I just looked at their site and it seems to be priced the same. I would say contact them directly or an authorized shop.

It’s $1k plus labor rate of authorized installer. Here in NC $60-$135.

    Good luck!

What is actually performed …? Do they piggyback a new ECU/Blackbox with the OEM ECU …? Is the ECU located in the front of the center console in the cabin …?

And the TCU … where is it located …? box added or reprogrammed …?

Asking questions, as I want a Stage I ECU & TCU for my ride … Stage II a few years away …

Any other info or thoughts to help inform me about the actual operation …?

You guys are sooo lucky. APR Stage 1 in Indonesia costs US$1,600.

Stage 2 Dual Pulleys + CPS + Software costs US$ 3,800 and I installed everything myself so no labour cost.

Total Stage 1 + Stage 2 Dual Pulleys + CPS is US$ 5,400. I believe I could get all these for a little less than US 3,000 in the US. I install everything myself anyway (except the software) so dont have to pay anyone for labour.

Detailed info on APRs tunes and what goes into them is one the website. Short version is they have an actual tune, no piggyback or otherwise “tricking” the ECU.

The ECUs can be de-installed by you or a shop of your choice and sent to APR or you can drive the car to your most local APR shop (shops are listed on APRs site) and they plug into the car without removing anything and flash the ecu. Takes a couple hours.

Just looked based on OP zip, surprisingly VW and Porsche dealers listed 61/64 miles away. Didn't expect OEM to be peddling APR...

Yup, and in most of those cases they do a good job in “overlooking” the tune and not flagging the car invalidating the warranty. It is certainly worth the discussion.

My local Audi dealer does the APR tune as well. I wonder how many dummies they sucker into an extended warranty and a tune at the same time of a new car sale.
