    Weatherproof sunroof cover?

Anybody aware of a weatherproof sunroof cover? Possibly magnetic?

I don't have a garage, and I keep my drains clean, but every time it storms (which is frequently these days) I lay awake in bed wondering if I will find water in my car the next morning. In fairness, I was traumatized from chasing leaks in my sedan. I spent months ripping out the interior and dropping the headliner.

Honestly, I just want something I can slap over the sunroof seams when I know rain is coming, and that can be easily removed. Seems to me that a cover made from magnetic sheeting would do the trick, but I've heard of these melting in the summer sun.

    Anyone doing anything like this?

There's gotta be something out there. I see this:

    https://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Sunr...a-977635088117

Now of course that's screen, for venting, but still someone out there has to make what you're talking about. If not get the screen- then FlexSeal to the rescue!

I looked everywhere for something that was removable. Couldn't find anything. Saw a dude that filed and abandoned a patent for exactly this, but the product never materialized. I use my sunroof, so I am not going to flex seal it lol. And, it's not leaking right now, but I am sick and tired of worrying about it.

Yeah I was kidding about the FlexSeal (and was referring to coating that magnetic screen with it- jokingly referencing their commercials of using a screen door for the bottom of a boat, with it being coated in that shit.)

Kind of surprised something like this isn't out there- I sure think there's a market for it. So there ya go, man- patent that bad boy and you're well on your way to being a billionaire.

In all seriousness I'd imagine you could make one yourself with long strips of magnet and a thinnish-but-still-stiff piece of plastic (the trick being the right glue- something that'll bond the strips to the plastic, but still remain flexible.) If it's a once-in-a-blue-moon need (like only for torrential rains) no glue necessary- you can use the strips overt the plastic sheet to hold it down.

I share your fear. I've had good luck w/ sunroofs, but have come across many that weren't so lucky.
