I've seen people ask what maintenance they should have done on their S3's and I thought I'd make a thread about it to help anyone out there needing this info. Many people here on Audizine have helped me out with my noob maintenance questions over the last few months and hopefully this helps other people out there. I've owned my 2016 Audi S3 with APR Stage 2 high torque tune since February 2019. I bought the car at 45k miles and the previous owner did an excellent job keeping up with maintenance and provided me with a binder full of service records. I plan on continuing this meticulous record keeping for myself and the next owner. Here's what the previous owner did:
Services/Maintenance:
- Oil change every 5,000 miles with LiquiMoly 5w40 oil change kit from ECSTuning with OEM oil filter.
- DSG service (drain and fill; replace filter) at 35,000 miles with LiquiMoly DSG transmission oil, OEM filter, and OEM drain plug.
- Spark plug change at 25,000 miles with OEM Audi RS7 plugs.
- Four wheel balance and alignment done by AWE Tuning in June, 2018.
- Haldex service (drain and fill; haldex pump screen clean)
- Water pump replaced with all OEM components at New German Performance.
Here's what I had done in July 2019 at around 54k miles:
- Motul oil and filter change
- Check condition of Haldex/DSG trans fluid (was clean)
April 2020:
Wheel and tire mount/balance
June 10th, 2020 at around 62k miles:
- Brake fluid flush
- New RS3 ignition coils
- New RS7 spark plugs regapped to 0.024 in/6mm (recommended by APR)
- Haldex fluid service
- DSG fluid change
- Check refrigerant
- Lube, oil, and filter change
- Replace intake filter
The car feels much smoother now and it's a pleasure to drive. Prior to this maintenance there was a subtle vibration or hiccup when stationary at traffic lights which is gone now. I get all of my work done at Tampa Autosports. I highly recommend them. They've done a lot of work on my car from maintenance to custom work like welding exhaust tips, black badges, rear diffuser, wheels, and more.
