Is it possible to program out limp mode

Hello all, I am new here and I am sure I will catch a ton of crap for this but here we go.

I few buddies and I bought an 2003 Audi A4 to use as a lemons race car. We have removed everything from the car including the airbags, AC, console, dash, factory steering wheel, comfort control module.......and so on. The interior of the car is completely stripped and now the car is in limp mode for some unknown reason. Of course running VAG is giving me tons of code because of all of the missing systems so it difficult to track it down to steering angle sensor or air bag fault or whatever that's causing the limp mode.

What I would like to know is it possible to program out the limp mode from the factory ecu or is my only choice is to go to a standalone ecu like the MaxxECU.

Thank you for all your help.

If you want standalone and plug n play look at ignitron ecu out of hungary. Possibly the best standalone thats plug n play for the stock harness and works with the cluster and all. Limp mode can be disabled however there are other safeties in place as well. Ideally A proper tune for the stock ecu or standalone and go till the engine lets go. What do you mean by limp mode?? What is the car doing??

Thank you EuroxS4 for the response.

Currently, when you first start the car there are the obvious check engine lights, but as soon as you give it a touch of throttle the EPC light comes on. When I drive the car it just doesn't deliver any power but seems to drive relatively well. I need to put a boost gauge on it to see if it's boosting over 5psi. The other thing I just noticed today is I seem to have the ability to rev well past 2000 RPM unless I step on the brake and then the ecu cuts the throttle. I'm certain it has something to do with one of the systems that has been removed.

Check faults in the ecu. Possible you have a dirty or sticking throttle body. Also check for timing faults, or sensor related faults. List any faults you have In The ecm. Also make sure the throttle body connector is fully seated.

The car ran great with no-faults until we started pulling out the interior. Once we pulled all the airbags, comfort control module, steering column, and such that's when the car went into limp mode which is why I suspect the issue is with one of those missing systems. As I understand how the ECU works limp mode is just mappings and what I am thinking is duplicating the mappings across all of the faults that would throw the car into limp mode. If I destroy the engine I really don't care as it going to be rebuilt again anyway I just can't have the car go into limp mode in the middle of a race.

I dont think airbags or comfort is gonna care about anything with the ecu. The steering column maybe are you have steering angle sensor there and so on. Hard to know what the issue is or cause without fault log. Get a fault log and go from there or go the expensive way stand alone.
