Ceramic brake pads for ceramic brakes + bedding procedure

As always, forgive me if there is a running topic about this, i tried to search but nothing usefull came up.

So for us guys who have ceramic brakes, what brake pads do you get?
Almost that time, actually the first time for me since previous owner had replaced them if not mistaken around 50-55.000km. Car has 108.000km so you don't hear me complain about that! Loving them and how good they last compaired to steel ones...

Anyway, i found the original partnumbers and if i compaired correct, S6/S7/RS6/RS7/A8/S8 all share the same pad sizes/partnumbers dispate the S discs are 400mm vs RS 420mm.
    4H0 698 151 C - 4H0 698 151 P (fronts)
    But also seen
    4H0 615 115 AH - 4H0 615 115 Q
I know dealer/stealer sells them and some shops like ECStuning sells them (but ECSTuning not really an option for Europe folks).
As we know, some prices at the dealer are fair but some are well crazy especially if it are parts maybe by somebody, approved by other party and eventually sold by audi. Somehow i feel this is the same with the ceramic pads. From what i can find...they are originally made by TEXTAR partnumber T2100FF, gets a brembo stamp and in the end an additional audi logo and since is used on the RS (and S) it gets RS tax .
Don't get me wrong, i understand the pads used on ceramic disc are 'special' and more expensive.

In short, anybody succesfully sourced original TEXTAR T2100FF brake pads or other alternative before i order them from dealer or ebay?

Haven't looked yet in the rear pads but i bet simular story.

And for when i do have new set, how is the bedding in procedure for ceramics? Simular as for steel brakes?

Bedding for ceramics I'm sure is universal as I had to replace some of my CCB equipment on my R8. .

Do 10 hard stops from 50-20 MPH and try not to come to a complete stop between runs (aka keep air flow going and ensure you're not holding a brake pedal to keep the car stopped). Then drive for a few minutes to cool off. Do an additional 10 hard stops from 70 to 30 MPH. Same idea. No complete stop.

Don't hit brakes hard enough to engage ABS.

sorry i'm of no help to the bed in procedure, but ive always wondered where people find locations to bed in brakes properly.

any road around me that i can go 70mph, it would 100% not be ok to come to a sudden 30mph slow down.
    and
any road that doesn't have enough traffic therefor would allow the repetitive slow down, either doesn't have enough room to do it safely and/or would result in a ridiculous ticket (2x+ the speed limit)

I've been able to bed brakes in my neighborhood but with modified speeds. Plenty of room and lack of traffic to do the first set of stops from 30 MPH and then the county roads I can safely do the stops from 50-55 without worry from cops or traffic.

Hope member p3u is okey with me posting his PM....
The bed in procedure is vastly different from steel setups. Much more involved.

I'll try to find the TSB with the information and share. Approximately 30 decelerations with different levels of force and performed at different speeds.
Hope he can find and link the TSB. In a way i suppose it is indeed bit simular proper steel brake bedding, but might need some more so heat get build up in a long timeframe?
Bedding them is indeed these days bit harder to do then years ago, luckly i have a highway witch doesn't have much traffic near the garage where i do my mechanic work. Still not the safest way do bed them but :).

One of the original self study guides: http://www.vaglinks.com/vaglinks_com...mic_Brakes.pdf

    Bedding instructions
After replacing ceramic brake discs and/or brake pads, the following bedding instructions must be follows:

    Pad new, brake disc new

10 braking operations from approx. 80 kph to approx. 30 kph at a low rate of deceleration (corresponds to a cautious, anticipatory style of driving, characterised by early braking, no apparent dive motion of the vehi-cle under braking, no locking of the seat belt)
20 braking operations from 100 kph to approx. 50 kph at a medium rate of deceleration (gentle dive motion of the vehicle is noticeable)Follow-up braking must be avoided.
Allow the brake to cool down between individual braking operations.Trip time: approx. 30 minutes

    Pad new, brake disc used

5 braking operations from approx. 80 kph to approx. 30 kph at a low rate of deceleration (corresponds to a cautious, anticipatory style of driving, characterised by early braking, no apparent dive motion of the vehi-cle under braking, no locking of the seat belt)
10 braking operations from 100 kph to approx. 50 kph at a medium rate of deceleration (gentle dive motion of the vehicle is noticeable)Follow-up braking must be avoided.
Allow the brake to cool down between individual braking operations.Trip time: approx. 20 minutes

However that self study looks for the very first offerings of ceramics so could have changed procedures.

    Cheers,

Much appreciated Alex for your input and service manual (maybe old version but better then nothing)!
