B7 Dash lights flashing relays clicking sound when turn off ignition

B7 Avant 2.0T Dash warning lights flashing and relays in dash and engine compartment clicking sound then key is switched off and left in ignition. When key is removed everything stops and back to nominal. I have done the following items: replaced ignition switch on backside of ignition lock, then replaced ignition lock set (key was loose and this tightened/normal), replaced starter relay in engine compartment, cleaned all visible grounds in engine compartment and cleaned battery terminals/added electrical grease, replaced battery, unplugged alternator, Scanned with OBDeleven tool with no codes. Car will start, drives normal. Things I haven't did yet: checked Comfort Control Module under driver's side carpet for moisture in floor pan, checked driver's side door wires in boot for insulation fracture/wires touching each other (windows, locks work normal). Lastly, I noticed if I put key into ignition and start to turn to acc position slowly the dash warning lights flashing and relays clicking. Any suggestions or someone encountered similar problem?

Not something I’ve heard of but there is another option, check your ecu box, they can crack and leak and fill with water and cause all sorts of issues. Can be a bitch to get into so look up diy’s for it.

I was able to remove top cover of ECU box in engine compartment area. Struggled removing windshield wiper arms with tool purchased off Amazon. The inside of ECU box was dry, no water intrusion. I replaced the starter relay thinking it was defective due to clicking noise when turning off ignition switch. The original relay was good, the new relay had no impact on clicking noise. Still looking for root cause with no luck. Thanks for your reply.

remove all your ceiling light (including map light), and glove box. Leave alone the doors, front seat and foot lighting. and see if it stops.

:/ I was hoping that would’ve been it but that’s good at least as that can cause tons of issues.

I can’t remember do you have vag-com and have scanned the car? If a module is failing it will find it during a complete auto-scan whereas just a normal scanner wouldn’t find failing modules.

Besides that I’m out of ideas, maybe try what the poster above shared

I have OBDeleven, scanned multiple times without any luck. Trying to search for wiring diagram to determine if there are relays under the dash that are related to the ignition switch. Last time I had lower dash trim panel removed I thought there were 3 or more visible relays.
