    2017 S7 wheel size

    Hi there,

I'm looking into buying used winter tire set.

I checked with local Audi dealer brand specialist and he said that the wheels below are too large for my S7.

Is that correct that these would not fit my stock S7 ?
    wheels 20x8.5 +20
    tires 255/40/20

    Thank you.

Too large for your S7?? That just sounds odd... there are multiple OEM wheel sizes for your MY17: 19x8.5 ET22 / 20x9 ET37 / 21x9 ET35. I cannot be 100% certain - more like 99% - but I would say you will easily fit a 20x8.5 on your S7. The offset should be all set as well.

He's wrong. Obviously not really a "brand specialist."

These are the correct OE size options.
    19x8.5 ET32 w/ 255/40R19
    20x9 ET37 w/ 265/35R20
    21x9 ET35 w/ 275/30R21

    Your spec
    20x8.5 ET20 w/ 255/40R20
Depending on the deign/spoke configuration clearance to the gigantic S brakes the wheels might fit, but the overall diameter with that tire will be more than 2% larger than the stock 20" setup and will stick out about 10mm more than the stock setup.
However, it is less than 2% larger overall diameter than the stock 21" setup. So ideally the overall diameter should fit within the 2% rule-of-thumb, but might be close to suspension.
I'd probably go 20x9 ET25(for a bit more flush-ness) with the OE spec 265/35R20 or 275/35R20 if you want a smidge more sidewall.

Haha you’re a joke. Ever heard of a typo? ET32, not ET22. Obviously you didn’t know or care to help out, since you added nothing to the conversation.

Love “keyboard warriors” like yourself. You’re amazing at what you do.

You obviously misunderstood me completely, I was not calling you out. I'm not a smart ass know it all... I've been around these boards for 13-14 years and been driving Audi cars for more than 30 years.
The point I was making is a lot of dealers have associates that call themselves "brand specialist" and the are far from it. The wheel information the OP was given was far from correct. So before you shoot off, know the play that was called in the huddle... And I am always helpful when I can be.

Fumble on the play; ran back for a touchdown. All my fault, Coach.

I was honestly shocked you may have said something like that, since you’ve been on this forum for quite some time. Should’ve assumed positive intent and that it was not directed at me. My apologies.

Your point about the wheel specialist at the dealer is now well received. He is wrong haha.

All, thank you for your feedback.

I decided to let these wheels go. I really can't invest so much into this just to end up with wheels that will either rub the fenders or my OCD due to not perfect size.
