Looking to put a roof racking on the car. What's the best brand/easiest way to install?

    Thanks

I would go with Thule - you can use the selector on thule.com to filter for your model year.
I have had a few different models over the years on my various cars including squarebars and wingbars.
Depending on your budget I would get whatever is most aerodynamic (less noise) and make sure I get locks with them.

You can get a rack that installs on a car without rails or without mount points. I had that on my STI. Only problem is, with time it will cause some imperfections in the clear coat of the car because of dust and whatnot. If you take that route put some tape in between or remove rack on occasion and clean.

Why do you need a rack in the first place?

I am a roof rack user on my B7, you can fit anything on top of your car, here I have a 9’ whitewater kayak and a roof box to keep gear in.

I use Thule aero bars, but their square bars are fine too, you do not need avant roof rails to install racks. The car has built in mounting points behind the door frame.

The rack towers (the bit that goes between the roof and the the cross bars) are the same for every sedan, but they make a fit kit that is specific to B6/B7 cars that hooks into little holes in the roof between the two white triangles.

I don’t have my racks installed right now as I usually don’t run them in winter since I don’t get on the river much then. And with covid I’ve had no need to put them on
