First I want to give a big thanks to meijerbrantm in audiworld forums. I always wanted matrix headlights but as you know we in the US don’t get that option and I thought it was not possible to retrofit, but after I stumbled onto his matrix retrofit thread for his A4 in audiworld, it ignited my drive to get it done. I really appreciate that he put it out there for the community to be accessed by everyone. I also have to give a HUUUUGE thanks to Alex@europrice. Without him I would have never got this done. He provided a solution for me and even though his hours is 9-5, he made himself available for any concerns or questions I had during my install. He truly went above a beyond and for that I’m grateful. He is definitely one of the best in the audi OEM business.

As far I know I'm the first one in North America that have successfully done a matrix retrofit for the Q7, and if Im not speak up lol, but honestly it was not hard as I thought it would be. Meijerbrantm DIY pretty much cover how it is done. Again it's right there in audiworld forum for anyone to see

The Q7 is very similar to his 17 A4 allroad process wise...almost identical. The one thing this retrofit do require is the DAP. It needs the camera up top to pass information onto the headlights. Also Q7s without air suspension might need an extra leveling sensor up front.

But on the difficulty scale of 1-5 where 1 is easy and 5 is God help me I would say this is a 3 Its not hard per se but tedious. Takes a little patience and confidence in your wrenching and electrical skills(which is minimal). I got all the parts I needed from Alex. He also confirmed and provided the Q7 specific coding which I used OBDeleven to make the changes. He also did the final calibration remotely to get the matrix beams up and running. The low beams and indicators worked once connected up but the matrix portion required the basic setting uploaded to function.

The Matrix headlights is a pretty cool. I love the way it looks. Definitely gives the Q a little more aggressive look imo. The function is awesome as well, it don't have the dynamic sweep front turn signals like the other products but the matrix high beam function is pretty nice. I do still feel like a tool with my high beams on as someone drive by lol but all in all I feel it's a great upgrade from stock and I'm very happy with them. So there you guys have it can be done. Even though I dont frequent this forum as much as I use to, I still wanted to share with the audizine community. =)
