Any B8.5 A4 Ea888.3 intake manifold removal guides?

Want to remove my manifold to inspect the flaps and do a carbon/sludge clean as I've been having manifold flap issues and used those camera gaskets and saw alot of build up on the manifold flaps.

I did 62k miles so it may be time for a clean up and to add a proper catch can while I'm at it.

Anyone here had experience with a Ea888 gen3 spec motor (dual fuel rails/8 injectors, 1 on manifold, 1 below manifold) in the A4?
(I know the gen3 wasn't introduced into all the B8.5 models across the world, some countries still use the gen2)

Or know of a guide/video online of the intake manifold removal. I do work on my own cars but I'd like a guide before I go in blind on this one.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.Screenshot_20200419_015923_com.android.gallery3d.jpegScreenshot_20200419_020242_com.android.gallery3d.jpeg

The removal is almost identical to the gen 2 non flex fuel manifolds. I’m sure there’s videos on that. If you’re fighting removing the intake when you get there, make sure the hpfp hard line is completely disconnected on both ends and it’s hold down clamp is removed.

Will check out some of those videos as they are a few online for the gen2, thanks!

Must be nice VAG got a clue and separated the fuel system from the manifold. I don't care for how he leverages the injectors out; I prefer to use a flat metal bar (https://audi.snapon.com/SpecialTools...itemId=8090116) laid across the valve openings as a backstop and use the angled screwdriver (https://audi.snapon.com/SpecialTools...temId=38730184) as a lever in the slot the slide hammer would grab. I assume the return to plastic means the throttle body threads eventually strip out again.

So I attempted to do this today and after disconnecting all connectors and I got down to the last bolt and my t30 was too thick to get in to loosen the last bolt. I was using a 1/4inch socket set with a t30 head. Looks like I need a t30 T bar or something slim like a Tbar

Finally got around to removing the Intake to delete the runner flap. Was rather successful. Alot of it was all new as the GTI tutorial, even tho has the same parts, was located in slightly different places and clearance was an issue as the A4 has the motors longitudinal.

Anyway. Removed the manifold. Removed the flap (it looks like a cam but instead of a cam lobe, you have the flap. The part which resembles a cam cap, that holds the flap down I reinstalled so the gasket sits like oem) cleaned the ports and manifold and reinstalled.

The only issue I found was with the amount of sensors that just runs across the manifold but doesn't plug into the manifold.

For a motor with 103 000kms / 67000 miles, been tuned for the last 10 000kms, there is no sludge or carbon. Just a thin layer of oil which wiped out with a dry cloth.

Cleaned everything up and reinstalled and she hauls ass all the way to redline now! What a difference. I did maybe 50 kms so far and about 3 engine cycles. No engine light and no signs from the motor that anything is not the way its meant to be. All good so far. Hopefully it stays that way.

If there's anyone with a gen3 B8.5 removing the manifold. I'll be glad to send you a few pointers that will make it abit easy to remove/install.

    Thanks for the help!

    1. Pic below is of the flap stuck closed. That is how my car has been running. Took quite abit of force to free up the flaps.

    2. Another is of the flaps removed.

    3. the engine without the manifold
