Noise Months after replacing Center Carrier Bearing on Driveshaft

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
In August I replaced my center carrier bearing. I had some noise on acceleration around 20mph and 75mph which went away at 80mph.
I thought this was due to centering the driveshaft/carrier bearing with a cloth tape measure when reinstalling. Also, I didn't replace the gaskets on the two driveshaft's cv joints.

Now, I have a noise which increases all the way from 0.

Is this due to the possibly inaccurate centering? Should I go back under and recenter using some calipers? Is there a way I can check if this noise is due to transmission or differential bushings?

Maybe the bearing in the rear diff snout?

If I get underneath is there a way to diagnose if it's the diff/diff snout?

I jacked up all four corners and all wheel bearings were solid.

Pull one side of the driveshaft and inspect the CV itself. It could be dry, or all the grease has been flung out.

Put the car on a lift. And have someone drive the car 65-80 mph while you observe the diff / tran for drivetrain noise

Which center bearing did you use? The 034 bearing is a piece of crap that will probably not last an oil change interval.

Got it from Colorado Driveshaft. It's the most recommended. Might be off center, I used a tape measure instead of calipers.

I only have jackstands but I'll look to see if I can find someone with a lift.

If you didn’t align the driveshaft 100% I’d say you will feel a vibration rather than hear a noise. Being out of alignment for too long will put excessive load on the bearing and wear it out prematurely though, but if you never felt any vibrations than I doubt it’s the centre driveshaft bearing.

But that doesn’t mean you don’t have a bad (defective) bearing, which can happen sometimes.

There is vibration and it's accompanied by a drone, gets worse as speed increases with a sweet spot being around 80mph.

I tried moving the transmission, and I didn't get any movement or noise. I moved the rear diff and there was slight creaking but not noticable movement. I noticed my inner front driver CV boot is torn. Can this cause the humming noise? I haven't noticed any clicking or popping while driving. The grease is definitely flung all around it. Not sure how long this has been torn.

Lift sounds logical, I wouldn't drive this thing until you put it on the lift. If that Ujoint fails at 80mph I'd like to see the end result.
