    Fastest 2.0T Audi Q5 ??

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Anyone tuned and do bolt on's on a 13-17 Q5 2.0t? E85 seems to make good power, wondering if i should do some stuff to my daily Q5 or just let it be.

Any input on 1/4 mile or Dragy times would be good to see!

Search out posts from member Perry01. He had his 2.0T running really well.

I put a Borg Warner K04 turbo and full bolt-ons on my 2013 Q5. It’s flex-fuel compatible but E85 isn’t sold here. It was custom tuned by Integrated Engineering.

It put down 341 AWHP on a DynaPack dyno on 93 octane gas and below are a couple of a Dragy times.

Those are impressive numbers ... but would it make sense to put the money into a trade for a 3.0T instead?

I have a K04, FMIC, intake and full exhaust on my 2011 A5 cab. It is definitely a blast to drive, and pulls hard in the higher RPMS.

But, to your point, my 3.0 Q5 with just intake and tune feels much stronger. I'm sure part of it is just the difference between the supercharger and turbocharger. Both are heavy cars for their segment, but the Q5 is definitely quicker.

The difference in price between the 2.0 and 3.0 Q5 (plus tune) is probably a bit more than the cost of the K04 upgrades, but not by a landslide. Just my two cents...

My 2 cents... This whole car Modding game is not a rational and cost effective thing to begin with. The argument of just buy the car that makes more power is not one that most of us here prescribe to. You have your Q5 and I'm assuming you are otherwise happy with it aside from the power. A tune on the 2.0T is good for what 50HP ? STG 2 or K04 maybe 100. So if you are happy with your ride now I cant imagine you being less happy with an additional 50-100 HP. If however you plan on dropping supper low Draggy times and cutting sub 4 sec 0-60 then I agree with the others and say better get into a 3.0T.

Just a Wagner FMIC and upgraded plumbing, CTS downpipe, BW K-04 (not a hybrid) and the custom tune.

They come with an IHI JH5 turbo it’s often referred to as a K03. Many Gen 2 motors (2.0T 200-220 HP) had this turbocharger. Decent low end torque but weak up top.

If I were to have bought the Q5 it would have been equipped with a 3.0T. We originally bought the Q5 for my wife but after a couple years she wanted something smaller so I bought her an A3. I inherited the vehicle so I decided to do some modifications. Total spent under $3000 and I cut my stock 0-60 time in half. Stock was almost 9 seconds!

My brother-in-law has a Stage 1 SQ5 and I out run him 9 times out of 10. It helps that my Q5 is 300 pounds lighter than his (mostly over the front axle)

Thanks for the input- I have a SQ5 also, (new one) but keeping it stock. Kinda just want to mod the 2.0t for fun, not for great results. Just want it to be peppy.

I'm shocked! Maybe my Q5 just feels quicker with all the low end torque, or maybe I need a better K04 tune!

Had a pretty modified B8 2.0t Avant, Also my SQ5 at the same time.... I planned to keep both as my avant had a lot of suspension modifications for the canyons around where I live. After I modified my SQ5, I took my Avant out one Sunday for a drive and realized how dissapointed I was with the car. The 3.0t motor just kept me jumping back into the SQ5 everytime I had a choice of which one to drive. So after a few months of owning both, I sold my avant 2.0t. I do not regret it, other than I liked the looks of a lowered Avant on 19's and 255's.

I have an A4 2.0T with a tune and holy crap it woke it up. The car dyno'd at 250whp and 311wtq on a Mustang Dyno and based on it's 30-60mph times (3.0secs even) it should be around 4.5secs 0-60 give or take (I don't like launching the car so this is an estimate). She still runs out of steam up top, that's the nature of these small turbos on this motor, but it's night and day compared to before. The amount of torque makes the car feel seriously quick too.

So if you wondering if tuning the car will make a noticeable difference, it will 100%. I also recommend a pedal tuner too, the stock throttle response kinda sucks, getting that was the icing on the cake for me. Doesn't make the car any faster obviously but makes it much more responsive.

I will have some time slips soon, built engine, CTS BW ko4, and IE tune. Should be able to push it pretty hard. Feels stout. I like our 2.0t for the fuel economy when you want it but the boost when you want that. In the future I will probably grab a 3.0t just for reliability, but my wife doesnt need a built 3.0t as a DD. Gets in enough trouble with the 2.0t as it is.

I took the other route. As I am well past retirement age I do not need to see how fast I can go but I do like better pedal responce .Had Sprint Booster installed on my 2.0. Really worth the $$$ & a lot more fun. If I want to I can usually win the stop light drag as there is no noticeable pause when starting up. After the 1st few seconds---who cares. Plus on highway trips I can easily get 30 mpg @ 75 mph. $400 well spent for fun. By the way SB helps on hwy passing.

Yeah the improvement in throttle response is transformational, worth it even without a tune for sure. I’m honestly surprised more people don’t get pedal tuners. The one I got from Burger Motorsports was only $170, my only regret is not getting it sooner haha

Oh okay, that’s a pretty reasonable price. I didn’t realize you had included installation cost

Ha ha about past retirement age. I'm 70. Started building and racing muscle cars in the late '60s and early 70s when in high school and college. Never outgrew it. My chucky little SUV running in the low 12s (hopefully high 11's when dialed in) is quicker than a stock 426 Hemi on street tires was in those days, and way safer. Don't sell yourself short due to age, friend. The 3.0T engine and supercharger are addictive, but a tuned 2.0 with K04 can surprise people.
