    Wheel/tire back and forth play/clunking

Hey Fam, so I lowered my A4 B8 CVT on some solowerks coilovers about 2 months ago. I went pretty low, about 24.25" FTG all around. I wasn't getting any noises up until about 3 weeks ago which have progressively gotten worse when I make slow turns or onto driveways of course. Clunking sounds to be exact. I checked the CV boots and they look fine, not torn. I'm thinking it might be the transaxle but I'm not entirely sure as all videos I've seen on these clunk noises come directly from the cv joints and not the transmission. Any idea what it might be? I just uploaded a video of the noise.

I'm not sure you have a problem. I've noticed the same when u have the front up in the air. I think it's just the diff. It's always been this way and I've never had any drivability issues.

Interesting. I would think that the wheel/tire would just spin freely in either direction smoothly when turned without any clunk? I for sure hear some clicking/clunking while making turns in either direction, so although my boots aren't torn im thinking the joints have failed. I was looking for some answers before I decided to take it to a shop that'll charge me for a diagnostic. Thanks for the reply!

Check all upper and lower control arm bushings. If they are worn, you will have clunks and various noises.

That drivetrain play is normal. Like the other guy said, check all the suspension bushings and hardware and make sure everything is tight. Sway bar links can clunk too. Also check your top strut mounts and make sure they're tight
