Buying a used APR Ultracharger Throttle Body?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just a quick question because i'm ignorant on the subject and want to double check.

I found a good deal on a used TB and was wondering if there is anything I should look out for before buying it.

I found a really good deal, almost too good to be true so that's why i'm asking around.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I don't think the tune is transferable so you might have to still buy one.

If you don’t decide to buy it pass the deal along. I’m looking for one with no software ;)

Or buy it up and sell it to me and make a profit.

Of course still not sure if that means it can be done or not.. They may require connection between you, your Stage II tune, and your UC purchase.. I.e. maybe the UC has a linked serial number or something.. IDK.

If it works like their other free upgrades, this will be only be a free upgrade when bought new. There is a code that comes on the box that qualifies for a one-time free upgrade. If sold in the used market, it's only a free upgrade if the original owner didn't have APR software and the code hasn't been used.

The tune is not transferable. You need a key to unlock the flash and APR will charge you 1,100 for that.
You are better off buying a new one or one that hasn’t been activated

I have mine still in the garage... haven’t gotten around to installing yet. So if you want a good deal I’ll sell you mine, code has never been used and the parts are still in their packaging.

I was told my by my APR dealer that a tune is required for the car to function with the throttle body, so if you install it you have to be next to your ARP tuner otherwise the car cannot drive.

Im currently running APRII Duel Pulley, I assumed I would have to pay for a flash just as I did from stage 1 > stage 2. Is this an incorrect assumption?

Yeah im still trying to hash out the logistics of this. I assumed it to not be much of a difficult install but maybe I should look into that.

its not hard to install at all, probably 30 mins worth of work. However unless your APR dealer is kind enough to let you work in their parking lot you are looking at that $XXX/hour labor rate..... If only APR cared enough to setup in home tuning.

Yeah my APR dealer is 50 miles away so haven’t gotten around to it. When I do install I’ll just have AAA tow me to eurocode.
