Above information if from vagcom on my 2007 a4 2.0t 6 speed car.

At the junkyard today, I got an ecu from a 2006 a4 2.0t 6 speed car part number is 8e0 910 115 M. The security bolts were cut to accept a flathead making me think it may be tuned.

    1) would this ecu work for my car?
    2) how would I determine if this ecu has a tune? Is there someone I can sent it to?
    3) say it would work for my car and Immo is defeated, if I changed the vin in vagcom would it hypothetically be plug and play in my car?

Thanks, been out of the Vw/audi world for a while, but did search and didn’t find anything like this.

It’s generally a bad idea to use a different ECU than what your car cams with. There are VIN specific sensors and other parts that might have problems.

For example, you have a B ECU and install a M ECU that has the immobilizer defeated. Now your flap motor for the intake manifold will have issues and your fuel rail pressure sensor might have issues.

To avoid potential problems, use the same ECU part number as the ECU you’re replacing.

ECUs are NOT interchangeable if the p/n suffix letter is different. Ex. If yours ends with "D" a replacement ecu will need to end in "D".

If you get it immo defeated (unitronic does it) it should just plug in and be good to go. Otherwise, you will need to have it installed at the dealer to have the immobilizer paired to your cluster and key.

You can do it with a BDM scanner / interface. But total pain in the arse.
