B8.5 Audi RS5 Carbon Ceramic Brake Upgrade - Price for parts

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello everyone,

So I reached out to my local Audi dealership for a quote in upgrading my steel brakes with the OEM carbon ceramic brakes that could have been optioned on my car, when ordering new, and they quote me $9000 per rotor, and $3300 per caliper (Canadian dollar). No joke, I have the quote in my email to prove it.

Is there anywhere else I can purchase an OEM CCB brake kit?

    Regards,

    Kris

That's normal price buddy. CCB's aren't offered as a kit anywhere. The only places you can get them is from 3rd party or from the dealership. They're too expensive to manufacture.

iirc the 19z porsche caliper is the same one used for CCB on the RS5, so buy those callipers used and refurb them and then go to https://racingbrake.com/carbon-ceram...-kit/audi/2c81 to get your CC rotors.

Oh sick! These are practically half the price as OEM!

    Thanks for the suggestion!

PMd you Ales details, he will sort you out at a much better rate if he has them in stock. I did the front and rear CCB conversion through him.

Just remember, the CCB-capable 19Z calipers have different pistons from the normal, iron rotor model. You'll need those to run CCB's.

Speaking of CCBs, I’ve been looking into potentially doing the rears early next year for the hell of it. James, are you certain that it is absolutely necessary to upgrade to 21” wheels for rear CCBs? I’ve found a great deal on some new C7 ceramic calipers and C7 CC rotors.
Current: 2014 Audi RS5 Ibis White Carbon Ceramic Brakes, JHM Stage 2, JHM 2.75” catback exhaust, K&N filters, 034 inserts (all of them), Alu Kreuz, carbon fiber splitter/side mirrors/ECS spoiler/rings

Previous: 2010 Audi S6 V10 Phantom Black Pearl JHM'd (JHM ECU tune, exhaust, LW crank pulley, intake spacers, SAI delete), R8 19s, RS6 interior

No, not required at all, the rears are the same diameter as the fronts so will fit fine under the 20" wheel. I went for 21" for aesthetics and weight (forged wheels).
