Any way to tell exactly which engine I have? 2.0t

Any idea how to tell exactly which engine I have? It looks like there may be more than one 2.0t with different horsepower for my car.

2011 Audi A5 2.0t Quattro... I know this is the A4 section but they said I would get more answers from this section.

    here is my vin#WAULFAFR3BA060002

Im looking at race chips tunes and the options they have are

    A5 (8T, 8F) (2009 - 2017)
    2.0 TFSI (221 HP/ 165 kW)

    or
    2.0 TFSI (208 HP/ 155 kW)

I dont know which to choose. According to my vin# My car has 211hp so is it neither of those choices?

    Every US B8 2.0T pre-refresh is a CAEB with the 155kW aka 211PS aka 208hp output tune.
Refresh introduced the CPMA flex-fuel motor, same output rating as CAEB gas only engine. Curious RaceChip does not inquire to this detail.

I find it interesting that RaceChip got the 2014+ engine power wrong. CAED and CPMB are 162kW aka 220PS aka 217hp.
Pretty sure any B8.5 165kW refers to the post-refresh CNCD Gen3 engine the rest of the world got. But not us.

Correct me if i’m wrong, but could be because racechip is a european company, that sells products “worldwide”. while the world got aprox 24 difference engines in the b8.X model, 7 of which 2.0.
and yes technical figures would say 162kW (on the CPMB) I do know in the window stick from my 14 a4 with a CPMB it does say exactly 221 HP. food for thought, who is right? Audi or Audi?

there are other that will suggest he get an APR, maybe more that suggest he get a JHM , maybe even some who suggest he get a unitronic. point is they are largely just opinions from people who own them . May as well just answer his questions and not wade into that muddy water....

..or ... we could also suggest what oil he run ;)

That's curious, because 165kW would be 224 PS or 221 bhp. Maybe the CAED was 162kW and the CPMB was 165kW, but would that be on premium or E85 :-). If there's one thing we can be certain, Audi record keepers are terrible at their job. The Audi 2014 A4/S4 quick ref spec book (sept '13) says the CAED/CPMB are 155kW, clearly wrong.

The EPA certification summary for the 2014 shows for the CPMB: "Carry over test group from 2013 model year. Rated horsepower increased to 220HP with software improvements." Interesting that they would then put 221hp on the window sticker. An EPA doc seems to acknowledge horsepower(mechanical) ["bhp"] vs horsepower(metric) ["PS"], but it does not appear necessary to designate to that level of accuracy in the engine cert.

Everything will be perfect one day, once we can get rid of the humans.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I’m the new owner of a ‘14 A4 2.0T Quattro 6MT PP S line. I have the same sort of question. I’d like to know exactly which engine code it is and I’m 90% sure it’s not the E85 version, but would love to know that for sure as well. Any way to know that for sure would be appreciated

Thanks man! Still familiarizing myself with this platform. Looks like only the automatics got the flex fuel setup, what a shame.
