    2011 A5 2.0t, bought it today.

I bought the car today with these error.

traction control light? ABS, TPMS and Parking break malfunction. Stabilization program and abs fault.

I searched and searched google and forums. All I ever see is people saying go to the dealer. Doesn't anyone with audi's work on their own cars? lol.

    Anyone have any ideas? :(

My screen on the dash also says Service due, but I cant figure out where to find what service.

I went outside to mess with it and when I started it it sputtered for a few seconds before evening out idle.... That is the first cold start after buying it. I didnt see when he started it.

Thanks for any help, going to a dealer isnt an option for me.

Do you have access to a OBD scanner? Scan the codes to see what they are. Lots of good reference to look.up the codes available online or here in the community.

A flakey battery can cause a lot of these error lights you have. There are a ton of other things that it could be but I would start by checking the battery.

As to the service, the car won't tell you that. If you know the prior servicing dealer you can contact them. You will usually need to provide proof that you bought the car before they will provide the service history.

I scanned it with a scanner before buying it, it has no error or stored codes, all monitors were ready for inspection. I dont have a scanner that scans abs and stuff tho.

Could very easily be a battery voltage issue. Your first mod should be a purchase of the Ross-Tech VCDS cable. You'll need a Windows laptop too. If there are no stored codes, then there should not be any errors so that's a bit of a conundrum. How do you know of those errors if no codes are stored?

On the service issue, you may need to purchase a Carfax or similar to see where the service was left off. Otherwise, yes, a visit to your closest Audi dealer will clear that up. There are plenty of dealers in NY so why isn't that an option?

Its not an option because they are a complete rip off. $125 just to hook it to their tester. Im not rich and it should be able to be figured out wthout them.

I know of these errors because the lights on the dash and the service screen says them.

Are you able to find a local Audi enthusiasts group or maybe post up in the regional forums here on AZ to see if someone with a VAG Com will help you out? Seems there are always some nice people out there willing to lend a hand.

Congrats on the new car and good luck.

+1 on getting a VCDS cable it will help you figure this out. It will provide you with a lot more detail on the manufacturer only codes. I have had the TPMS and ABS error come up after changing tires without resetting the system. Can you reset that in the cars menus or are there actual TPMS sensors in the wheels? Also have had ABS light come on from bad ABS module. Fixable but a pain. Lastly rough idle at cold startup could be normal, secondary air injection warm up cycle or could be bad combi valve PCV and or crankcase ventilation routing or check valve. Again all fixable and if you’re doing it yourself can be relatively cheap on parts.

Get VCDS though this will easily pay for itself

    Welcome!

Thanks for the suggestions, I know I can fix things myself Ive been working on cars my whole life. Ill have to look into this VCDS. It would tell me like if it had a bad wheel sensor and which one? Read and reset codes? Stuff like that?

In our local Audi Club, we had a guy with virtually the same issues. Changed the battery and that cleared it up. I was also have weird codes being thrown on my B8.5 S5. Had the battery tested and it failed. Changed it and my weird issues have not happened since.

Check. your abs sensor. This usually comes on together if your abs sensor is unplugged or maybe damaged.

Yes, car ran and drove fine other than those codes. The only indicator was the battery showing like 30 percent on the Car setting screen.
