    Options missing from Unitronic+

    Hello All,
I took advantage of the spring break sale and bought the stage 1+ and stage 2 tcu combo. I flashed stage 1 91 ecu and the stage 2 tcu to get a feels for things. I noticed that there was no option for stage 1 tcu just 4 different versions of stage 2 at the time of flashing so that's why I went with stage 2.

Stage 1 ecu lasted for roughly 3 days lol and now I want to move on to the stage 1+ ecu tune that I bought but I went to flash there was only an option for stage 1 and stock.

Anybody got any insight on why my options are missing in the program. I have a 2019 RS3 if it makes a difference.

    Thank you for your purchase

If you flash the lowest "stage" first, it will lock you out of the rest in the ecu. We can fix this to problem if you call into our technical support.

For anyone else reading this, if you buy stage 2 but want to run stage 1 first, you'll need to flash stage 2 and then flash whatever file under that you want to run.

Thank you Brian I had a feeling that was the case when I went back to reflash the car.

What about the stage 1 options for the tcu?

I created a support ticket #5226 should I still call?

    Yes I would call in

The tcu works the same, if you bought stage 2 but flashed stage 1 first youd need us to enable stage 2 for you

I called this morning and the rep said he added the stage1+ back to my account but he also said that there is no longer a stage 1 tcu tune for the rs3. That doesn't seem correct because it is still advertised on dealer sites so I'm a little confused.

There's certainly Stg1 TCU available for the DQ500; perhaps you confused what was said. If you're using Stage 1+ ECU, you should be using Stage 2 TCU, and since you indicated, at least in your support ticket, that you were upgrading to Stg1+ ECU, you should use Stg2 TCU. Hope that helps! Feel free to reply to one of the support ticket, emails, or give another call if you have additional questions; we're happy to help!

Do I need to upgrade my TCU to Stage 2? When I bought my Stage 1+ last summer, Stage 1 TCU was still the recommended and that's what I got at the time. I'm still currently running Stage 1+ ECU with Stage 1 TCU.

If you're using Stage 1+ ECU, you should be using it alongside our Stage 2 TCU calibration. MORE INFO: https://www.getunitronic.com/news/dq...e2-free-update

No, we don't sell software from our website. You can purchase from the dealer you bought the ecu tune from and they can attach it to your account 👍

John, some months back I was running the stage 2 TCU alongside my 1+ ECU tune on 93 octane and found it a bit harsher for DDing than the stage 1 TCU. I have been running the stage 1 TCU because of this. Is the stage 2 tcu recommended over the stage 1 tcu from a safety or performance standpoint (or both?)

i.e. Is it 'safer' to run the stage 2 tcu with 1+ ECU on 93 octane than the stage 1?

For the best overall performance with this power level, Stg2 TCU is certainly recommended. It manages the torque much more appropriately alongside Stg1+ ECU.

I just flashed my 2019 to stage 1+ & Stage 2 TCU and noticed the start up exhaust pop/crackles are gone. Anyone else experiencing this?

It does seem to be less noticeable than stock on cold start up on mine as well. Mine is a 2018.

My 2019 used to pop/crackle on start after engine is warm. That has been erased with this tune. The trade off is free revving on neutral now will pop/crackle. Unitronic can you guys verify?

My 2019 seems to still pop at startup but only if I've been in dynamic when I last turned it off

    Yes, I noticed that too.

I loaded the 91 tune with LFB and valves always open in S mode. How do I use the LFB?

may with 19's have reported this at first, and after a couple start ups report that it is back. We are using the same valve algorithm as the 17's and 18's.

Hold the brake down while cruising at the speed that you want to go from, and while holding the brake you push the gas pedal to build boost. Let off brake and you take off. It does take some practice to do this.

    Hey Brian,

Would you use that same revision for 93 oct? I may have loaded the incorrect revision. Hard to tell which one is the newest.
