    Hey all,

So have been getting a Camshaft Position Sensor BANK 2 (G163) 17800 code showing up on my 3.0.

Just wondering which side of the motor is BANK 2?

    Cheers

Bank 2 is driver's side in the U.S., passenger side in Australia I believe. Facing the front of the car, bank 2 will be on your right, numbered 4, 5, 6, the last one being nearest to the firewall.

If you have that fault i doubt its just the sensor,Unless you have oil in the connector then you have a wiring issue.

Replaced the lower sensor on the US driver side, AU passenger side.

Code hasn’t come back so hoping it was that for now, the sensor was original.

I find it kinda weird how our cars drive so nice and smooth after you calibrate the Throttle body but that slowly fades to jerky driving.

    Thanks for the info

Good call! Didn't even notice the Australia location of the OP.

The volkspage article is excellent but it doesn't show the location of the oil pressure sensor for the 3.0. I've been getting an intermittent oil pressure warning light on my 3.0 and I can get a new switch for $22. I know the chances are against the problem being the switch but I thought I'd eliminate that possibility first.

Do any of you know where the oil pressure switch is located on the 3.0? Hopefully, it's easier to get at than the 1.8T.

Different thread really..but oil pressure sensor is just above the oil filter cooler.
It faces the front of the vehicle and is tucked in a bit.

You are lucky if you find you do not need to put the front end in the service position.
Getting the connector off the damn sensor, without damaging it, is a bitch.
I thought about cutting the wire and pushing the whole 24mm socket over the connector and all, until I got luck and get it to disconnect.
