    P025c and p008a codes

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
2014 s8. I'm getting these two codes during scan. P025C fuel pump module control circuit low, and p008a low fuel system pressure. Occasionally it shows random misfire as well. Car starts great when cold. Within a minute starts running rough and eventually dies. Will not restart till cold again. It has epc light and flash cel. Anyone have a direction to start from?

    Check the fuel pump
    Fuel Pump Control Module -J538-

Do you hear the transfer fuel pump running when you turn the ignition on or open the door?

Unfortunately all the fixes are just "check wiring for damage or corrosion". Could be faulty pump.

Could also be fuel pressure sensor... -G410- it is attached to the high pressure fuel pump.

Don't hear the pump running. I just got a check list from an Audi tech to go thru. I'll be sure to post anything I find.

Is that what it usually is? I think I should rule out wiring before buying parts.

Anyone know if there is a fuel inertia switch like fords use? I feel like i'm not getting power signal to my relay, but i'm not sure if i'm just missing it. Going to get someone help check it.

I did not get it fixed. I fixed the airbag light just to rule it out. Will be swapping in tank pump in about a week. While i wait i, i finished my install of redstar downpipes and made midpipes. Just waiting on the pump now.

Anyone know a way to test this fuel pump out of the car? I'm not familiar with four wire pumps. Ohms between sperate outside pin to the others is all .5

Not the fuel pump, not the control module.

Yes you find the power and ground usually red and black and give straight power and straight ground using jumper wires or a power probe and you can get it to cmon.
Update us where are you at in progress? Does the car do the same thing? Same codes? All new parts?

Used control module, new pump. Going to try looking at some wiring that shouldn't affect it according to this Audi tech that was helping me before. It's where my fan hit the front of the engine when it broke. It cut the coolant temp wire which I had fixed already.

Do you still have the same codes? What module are you speaking about.

Yeah it's the same, mainly the p025c. I replaced the fuel pump control module on the side of the gas tank. I'm pretty sure it's wiring, but it would most likely need to be in front of the engine. I'm going to pull the radiator support forward and try to look it over good today.

Good luck man. I’m really curious to see what it ends up being

I found a few bare wires on the engine, but it doesn't appear to be the problem. I ended up pulling the whole support out to better access them.

So it's currently running. Unless bad pump will cause the fuse to blow, I had to have multiple problems. Right now I'm running but fans still aren't hooked up. Fuse was checked initially when problems began and checked good.

Just meant to be first steps in troubleshooting.... if you hear it running, then the pump is obviously getting power.
It seems like OP has already done some digging and found other issues.

I'm pretty sure my main issue was the pump. I put the original fuel pump control module back on and it still runs good. It would would originally run good till warmed up, then under load it would have no power and start to miss this it would die. Street it cooled a few hours it would start right back up. It either eventually blew the fuse or i have additional problems on this circuit I haven't found yet. I did fix that wiring mentioned above, but technically it's on a different circuit. I'm going to add a few hangers on the exhaust today and drive it.

Good for you. Fuse probably popped from pump overheating or something
