    A3 muffler & resonator delete

Just got a 2015 A3 quattro as my first car bought. A couple things done to it including apr stage 1. I also did a cts resonator delete which did absolutely nothing for the noise. Was thinking about doing a muffler delete as well instead of buying a catback but also thought about getting a downpipe for stage 2 in the future. I don’t want it to be too loud but I want to know if anyone suggests leaving the stock muffler on with the new downpipe or to do a muffler delete as well. Maybe just do a muffler and resonator delete until new downpipe and put one back on? New to the scene so anything helps

Well, This engine will never sound good no matter what you do. The Gen 1 of this motor on my Bug sounded great with keeping the resonator and doing a muffler delete however. Deleting both would be obnoxious AF though I would think. Can experiment- put the resonator back in and disconnect the muffler and see how it sounds. Downpipe doesn't make that much different. I kept my S3 muffler, but have a catted APR downpipe and res delete. Still sounds Meh, but changing mufflers will do nothing for performance so just left that stock.

I did a muffler delete on my 2016 A3 1.8 and it didn't do much of a difference, you're better off getting a high flow cat and keeping the resonator so that you don't have to deal with drone. For the muffler scrap it and get new tips as the resonator does much of the noise dampening/muffling.

I just recently did a muffler delete on my car. I was completely underwhelmed on how quiet it was. It made this deep noise under low speeds, but almost made a fire extinguisher noise at full throttle. Im okay with the amount of sound as its my daily driver and the car almost looks stock so i did not want it completely loud, but did expect a little more noise.

As mentioned above, these 2.0T engines sound like shit in the first place. They do not have any good noises like v8 cars or like my R32 that i drove for 7 years. I think that is what made me so dissapointed in the first place..what was i expecting>:)
