    Q5 Adaptive light fault 02071 004

    Hi!

    Trying to help a friend with his 2010/11 Q5 3.0 Quattro S-Tronic.
It has the AFS/LWR function, and throws the fault code:
    02071 - Local Databus
    004 No signal/Communication - MIL ON
    Fault status 11100100
Its in the module 8H0 907 357 C we see the fault code.
We have replaced the electonic unit on the lights, 8K0 941 597, no luck.
Checked the main connector to each light, looks fine.
Pulling fuse 6 (LWR) makes no difference
Pulling fuse 7 (LWR) cuts power to the above mentioned module.

Could it just be that the "8H0 907 357 C" is somehow defective?
Someone mentioned that if the H7 bulb was blown it could give a similar error, but these are bi-xenon, aren't they?

Any ideas what to do next?

Come on guys, please help me out here.
I'm up for inspection soon and need to sort this out :-(
I don't want to buy new lights if the issue is elsewhere...

The AFS light has another halogen bulb if I remember correctly, may need to replace that.

Looks like only a "turn signal indicator" bulb, no.9. They both work, and I assume they would have their own fault code...

Forgot those are the older style lights, the new ones have a static cornering bulb. But yes, should have its own fault code. If the module isn't communicating, it's either unplugged, or bad, not much else to do with it unfortunately. Looks like that is for the range control, do the lights move up/down when you first start the car?

Can check the level sensors and things as well, but likely one of the modules went bad.

I replaced the modules in the lights for LED (6 in pic) and the electronic unit (5 in pic).
Didn't replace 7 in the pic.

Lights doesn't move at all, not up/down like my A6 2012 or side to side. Just "fixed beam".

Do you think it could be the 8H0 907 357 C module inside the car?

Can you post the full scan for that module? When I googled that part number it comes up as control for the level adjustment and things, it doesn't look like it has anything to do with the lighting function itself really.

Just to confirm, the car has AFS lights, so should have concerning function, and also should have levelling function correct?

If it's not moving at all it's probably the 8H0 module, but would need to research a little more.
