Cool DIY: AUDI A7/S7/RS7 LED Headlight retrofit

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi there!
Ive been in the proccess of retrofitting the OEM LED Headlights on the 4G model.
My car came fitted with the Bi-xenon automatic headlights. All tho i wanted a car with LEDs, the only option out there on the marked when i bought my A7 used with this amount of equipment was with Bi-xenons. So my plan was all along to retrofit this.

Here is my DIY for this job including my coding.

    ----------------------------------------------------
    AUDI A7 BI-XENON to LED
    ----------------------------------------------------
(Vehicle equipped with cornering lights (more parts needed))
(this guide is the same for A6 C7. But on that you need different wires for the headlights, and 2x fans for your lamps.)

I Recommend you to do a SCAN of your vehicle to determine if you have some of the parts you need.
You should already own VCDS or some other tool to do the programming at the end.

    ----------------------------------------------------------
Next these are the required components for this job:
    ----------------------------------------------------------

    2x 4G0907472 or 4G0907472B
    2x 4G0907472A or 4G0907472C
2x 4G0907697F or 4G0907397F (you cannot use your old xenon unit, even if etka says so...) These are however the same unit in skodas etc, so i got them pretty cheap using a swedish carparts database.

    1x 4G8941033 LED Lamp LEFT.
    1x 4G8941034 LED Lamp RIGHT.

Any Letter on the end is the revision. Higher letter: bug fixes or changes to hardware. I made sure to buy same revision on both of mine.
NB: THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR THE ECUs mentioned above. Only the lamps.

    I bought 4G8941033E and 4G8941034E.

Both used from two different sellers.

IF YOU HAVE CORNERING LIGHTS: Address 55, same as mine 4H_4_907357 and not a 0, then you need this too:
1x 4H0907357 any revision on the letter. i got the 4H0907357B

    IF YOU HAVE CORNERING LIGHTS:
    1x https://www.kufatec.com/en/audi/a7/a...number=40190-1
    IF NOT:
    1x https://www.kufatec.com/en/audi/a7/a...0?number=40190

    IF YOU HAVE CORNERING LIGHTS:
    1x https://www.kufatec.com/en/light-sig...a6-a7-4g-39885

Here is a picture of all my parts ready to go:

    --------------------------------------------------------------
This is my Address 09 scan:
    --------------------------------------------------------------

    Address 09: Cent. Elect. (J519) Labels: 4H0-907-063.clb
    Part No SW: 4H0 907 063 BF HW: 4H0 907 063 F
    Component: BCM1 2.0 H12 0100

MY unit is a BF. Ive read on motor-talk.de that BG and BP works.

I bought a BP unit. Before replacing this take note of your long coding of your old unit, and do a Adaption map.
Restoring adaptations did not work for me as the module wasnt the same, so i had to open the adaptations map csv file in a CSV viewer application. And manually move them over.

With installing a new unit. the unit will have CP (Component Protection), this only makes headlight washer not work, dim all interior button switches etc to minimum.
And interior lights wont work either. No big deal. Just go to the dealer to make them remove CP. I paid 150$ for my removal. Insane for a 5min job.......

If you wanna wait with CP removal, that is no problem. All exterior lights will work because of safety.

    --------------------------------------------------------------
This is my Address 55 scan:
    --------------------------------------------------------------

    Address 55: Xenon Range (J431) Labels: 4H4-907-357.clb
    Part No SW: 4H4 907 357 A HW: 4H4 907 357 A
    Component: ....AFS13.... H01 0012

Component is AFS. That is the Cornering lights and automatic xenon control as my car can auto low/highbeam.

What you need is a aLWR (german word for aHLS) module for address 55. Partnumber: 4H0907357B.

a aLWR module does not work with xenons. I have tested by trying to code my aLWR with xenon headlamps and xenon functions onto the aLWR before convertion.

Remember to copy your code from the old AFS module, and insert these parts from the long coding, into your new module. (Not all coding will be accepted. Just the parts with your suspension type and stuff.)

    ---------------------------
    2. WIRING and INSTALLATION:
    ---------------------------

Run the wires according to the kufatec manual you get when buying the cables.
My route was through the fender.

    1. Remove inside footwell cover:

    2. Remove wheel and then the wheelwell liner.

    3. Remove the bolts wires and washerfluid pipes as shown:

    5. Use a pullthrough wire, its a really tight fit.

I spent literally 30mins on this part. Even though being an electrician.

    9. Remove the other beige plug and insert the wires indicated in the manual
