    Considering Allroad

    Hi all,

I havent posted in awhile but I wanted to get some insight from everyone. I'm thinking of purchasing a 2014-2016 Premium plus (preferably sport package) Allroad and curious about which model year would be best based on features and reliability. I understand they didn't change anything major but would like to know up front if there are possible small changes that might make difference.

I've tried to search but couldn't find too much, apologies if I didn't dig deep enough. I appreciate all the help and advice in advance.

I have a '13 allroad with 158k miles on the clock. It's been a FANTASTIC vehicle!!! They changed up some of the option packaging from '14 on, but otherwise..... you should have a great car!!!

The later the better, just find a 2016 and have the most revised engine. Couple of 2013’s have seen big oil consumption. Have not to date seen anyone with a 2014+ with major OC.

As a subject I might have to one day be interested in if I can't get past craptro ultra, here's a quick chart just looking at the feature set packaging by year.

I have a 2015 P+, tech, sport, and love it

I have a 2015 P+, tech, sport, and love it. This my first B8.5, but I've had three previous C5 allroads- #3 (4.2 103K) is my wife's daily driver. I'm at 47.2K and have had it 13 months so far (since 37.4K miles). The only thing I've had to do was replace a front wheel bearing that was making noise. My only mod is an APR stage 1 tune which totally transforms the car! Total combined MPG over the last year is 22.1 (80% around town) with the APR tune. My only wish is more rear seat room, but I don't have to sit in the back!

Bought a 2016 P+ with tech & sport packages last October. No brainer to get both options in the 2015/2016 models, IMO. Prices have really dropped with the b9 gen out for a few years now. I would have spent the extra for a 2015 Prestige if I had found one for less than 30k miles, but none ever appeared during my search.

The sport seats are a must, as are keyless entry, B&O, side assist and auto-dimming. I never use the nav but it’s included. I test drove a non sport and refused to buy one without the better seats.

I enjoyed the car stock but absolutely love it lowered and with an apr stage 1 e85 tune.

    Considering Allroad

I picked up a 14 allroad back in October. It was one of about 6 lease returns all with under 30k miles. Mine has everything but the sport seats, which was something I wanted but none of the others had the mmi or B&O speakers. So now I have an excuse to find some s4 seats.

I’ve put 5k on it since October. Just changed the oil with liqui moly and Pulled out over 4 quarts, so don’t think I have to worry about consumption issues.

I just put my Thule box and some 19 VMR wheels on. Looking to go APR stg 1 at the end of the year

It definitely needs a little drop, I’ll probably end up getting H&R springs. I’d like to go air this time around but it’s my daily so not sure about it

Hey guys, thanks for giving me insight into your personal experiences with the allroad. I’m happy to see it’s been positive. Also that breakdown chart is incredibly helpful.

I really like my 2015 premium plus. Have had for 3 weeks, bought it with 45,000 on the clock. My warranty is expired on time basis (just over 48 months)

I would try to find a 2016 to maximize your chances of having some warranty left. Unfortunately mine is experiencing the notchy steering issue and needs a steering rack.
(see thread here https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...otchy-steering). Fortunately Connecticut (where I bought the car) has good used car warranty law.

In terms of what else to watch for, see this thread https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...uestion-Thread

Good luck. After I get through this bump hopefully good from here!

I've had my '15 AR since new, and it just turned 47k miles.

Make sure the recall for the after-run electric water pump has been done, or if not, get the recall performed shortly after purchase. I had the recall performed about 4 months ago, because Audi took forever to get enough revised pumps released to the dealership network.

Aside from the recall, nothing to noteworthy has occurred during my ownership. It was originally leased it in late 2014, and I decided to buy it out for a very good residual price. Once the 4-yr/50k mileage warranty expired, it got APR Stg 1 and then Stg 2 + DP shortly thereafter. I changed plugs @ 35k miles and installed R8 "Red Top" ignition coils. OCIs are 5k miles w/Castrol 0W40 & OEM filter. The engine burns no oil between changes. Upgraded front brakes to Stoptech Trophy 6-piston calipers & 2-piece rotors because buybrakes.com was practically giving them away last year. Although not exactly a lightweight wheel, shortly after obtaining my AR, I upgraded the rolling stock to 20" S7 Black Optic w/Yoko Advan V105s. Really improved the handling, and the corner grip of the Advans was a noticeable increase over the stock 18" Pirelli P7s. I replaced the Advans with Conti DWS-06s last year.

Next up is a fluid change for the transmission, transfer case and diffs @ 50k miles.

Good luck with the hunt for an AR.

You guys are the best! You’ve all shared helpful info and it sounds like you’ve added some tasteful mods to your AR’s, the hunt continues....
