    Forge Atmospheric valves, any experience?

I want bit more intake sound to my s7, look like the choice is either an open intake like roc euro or an Atmospheric valves.

I did some research open air style filters might actually have a negative effect on performance due to hot air, what about the Atmospheric valves?

Any one fit them? Are they just an sound only or actually does help with the turbo response a bit?

If you want more intake sound, snag an intake. If you want that swoosh, then a valve that vents to atmosphere will likely fit your needs. I'd advise against a Roc-Euro, snag yourself a set of SRM intakes.

I had a Forge on my prior vehicle, it was fine. Nothing special and maintenance (occasional disassembly and lube) was a bit cumbersome, I imagine they have a more robust product for the S7 though.

Forge claim they are more reliable and have a faster response time than OEM DV valves, but I haven’t seen any actual measurements online to prove that.

They do sound cool though, example sound (not my videos):

A blow of valve is more likely to decrease turbo response. It's not until you start making some serious HP/boost where the factory bypass valve will no longer be sufficient and a BOV would make more sense. I understand that doing it for sound is a different reason, but not worth it if it can hurt performance and IMO, most BOVs just make a high-pitch whistle sound that isn't really pleasant. I ran an HKS SSQV on a previous Japanese sports car and they sounded good because of the fluttering, kind of reminded me of the old Audi race car noises.

I'm admittedly ignorant about many aspects of the 4.0t, but I'm curious how a properly spec'd and setup BOV would negatively impact performance? Recirculating is beneficial if you only have a MAF, since you are venting air that has already been metered. But I think our cars have a MAP sensor that with the correct tune should avoid a potential rich fuel trim when the valve vents.

Obviously an improperly spec'd BOV could hinder performance, but that is true of basically any part.

I run them. Did not notice any difference in performance over stock. Sound, well i got short SRM intakes connected to a rs7 box, so i can hear something at nighttime driving when its quiet outside. Otherwise still very little noise. If you want the noise, either go full intakes or vent to atmosphere

The forge vent to atmosphere valves is what the OP was asking about I think. Videos above give a good idea of the sound with them from inside the car.

To clarify, i run the BPV version and NOT the BOV. No changes in spool or anything on my part
