TTRS color question and pkg question

dynamic pkg on a 2019/2020
this comes with red calipers. ugh why?
is there any way around this?

I realize this is completely subjective. But I am curious about the popular decision. I was set on black optics (I have it now on another car). I love black optics! I despise silver window trim, and silver grill surrounds.

But on this car, the window trim and front grill surround are all black - EVEN ON THE NON-black optics car, this is good. I am a sucker for the silver mirrors. The spoiler mounts and ends being silver, this is a little tricky for me.

I'm not wrapping or spraying anything on this car. So I want to do it right, from the jump.

With all of that said, please vote!

OR

turbo blue - no black optics - the right.

the only other thing that you may have overlooked, the trim inside the wheels. It looks like the black optic wheels have black trim, and the other car has gray.

Unfortunately, there’s no way around the red outside of buying new calipers or painting them. I’m super biased since I already own a black optics turbo blue TTRS, but definitely go black optics. I personally hate any sort of chrome/silver on the car. Even with the black optics they left the gas cap silver, which pisses me off, but that’s an easy fix. If you’re main gripe about going black optics is just the mirrors, then I say do it anyways. Offer to trade somebody on here or just sell them and use the money to buy silver mirrors. I don’t think install will be tough at all, but worst case scenario, pay Audi or a reputable independent shop a couple hundred bucks to install them correctly. Or, if you’re planning on doing carbon fiber pieces for the front bumper, rear valence, and spoiler, then black optics doesn’t make much sense since you’ll replace that stuff anyways.

So from someone that never had black optics on a S/RS car, black optics is the way to go on the 19+ cars. The silver on the wing end plates and lip just look off. I was torn like you are but in the end it just flows better.

I typically don't like blacked out optics and wheels, but agree that the few silver accents in this case just don't aesthetically flow very well. So, another black optics vote (which seems to be the way you were leaning anyway).

I'm biased as well as I have a 2019 Turbo Blue TT RS with Black Optics. I just picked it up used and it originated from Canada and has black calipers so I guess that's one way around the red!

If the mirror caps are anything like the ones on a VW Golf (which I’m sure they are), the swap is an easy DIY.
I vote for black optics, find some silver mirror caps to swap, and live happy.

I was 100% sold on black optics. But after owning my nardo grey/black optics car for a few weeks now I can't help but think how good the silver trim would have looked. On this car in particular the silver does so much to highlight the big intskrs/grille etc., not to mention the black is soft paint, and hugely subject to chips. Also, the issue with the BO package on this car is there is still a ton of silver. Badges, fuel cap, wheels, etc. My vote is silver.

Also, a competent show can wrap or paint your calipers.

I suggest you WAIT, until the following MMI/CarPlay issue is resolved prior to purchasing/leasing a new TTRS.

I can tell you I have not once use android auto or carplay and am enjoying the car just fine.

I paid a lot of money for a car that is supposed to work as advertised and sold to me. It doesn’t. And there is no fix for it.

I looked at both black optic and not, and decided against the black optics. The contrast/shiney bits create a lot of interest vs what I see as "black holes" on the front/back with the black optics. I also like the grey vs black on the wheels.

Go with what you like as there is no wrong answer here. Make sure to see them in person.

Mirror cap swap is easy. Swapping the spoiler isn't too hard as well. I wish the Dynamic+ package was still offered, that is what really pisses me off. My last TTRS was a Dynamic+ and I loved that package.

What'd you love about it? Fixed suspension, oleds? I imagine you could procure most of it as bolt ons.

Fixed suspension, Oleds, Carbon Ceramic brakes and the Carbon Fiber on the engine cover and intake manifold. I loved it all, especially the Carbon Ceramic Brakes and the Direct TPMS.

I loved them on my last TTRS. I would have chose that option if it was still offered.

I believe there were a lot of problems with the carbon ceramic brakes. They were noisy, expensive to replace, chip, and there were a number of fast failure reports from those using them at the track.

my past three cars have been blue!
I was all in for another blue car, but last minute changed my mind.
I will be a little jelly when I see a TB RS in person, it just looks incredible.

I had a combo of
lemans blue 335D, a little too dark
rising blue golf R, not bad

sold them both and got a sepang blue S3, love this color
aura blue is my fav.

Unless you plan on getting aftermarket wheels that are all black then the non black optics looks best with the turbo blue. The wheels pull too much attention when every trim piece is black. I personally like the Audi rings and model to be silver.
