    Hey guys-

I just test drove one, even in comfort mode I couldn't get past 12mpg average. What are you seeing on a daily basiss?

S7 here - with just shy of 1000 miles driven since I've owned it, I am averaging 18mpg with mixed driving (60 highway / 40 city). 100% in Dynamic and many times in Sport/Manual mode. Real world calculations, not from MMI.

I am 99.9% S/Dynamic and get about 16-18mpg. On the rare hwy trip, I can squeeze out about 22-24. I suppose you could get more, but that wouldn't be any fun. heh

15-16 mpg - heavy LA local driving mostly, usually in individual (mostly auto except for exhaust sound, air suspension, and handling) and some dynamic. On highways, i usually can get up to 23-24 mpg in individual.

FWIW the DIS computer can read high by 5-10%.
My corrected average over 38000 miles is 17 mpg. 60% city
Lately I have been closer to 100% city at high elevation and I am no featherweight with the throttle. That is more like 16 mpg.
As others have said already, smooth light acceleration, highway cruising I can manage 24 mpg+, still a far cry from the 27 mpg my model year is EPA rated for. (That is only possible with a downhill slope and a tailwind.) You can get instantaneous peaks of 30mpg+ on smooth flat stretches of highway but to average that for any period of time is nearly impossible.
It's really not a car conducive to high mpg's.
You could enable efficiency mode which helps minimally, but mostly by neutering throttle and also trying to get into the highest gear possible as soon as possible. However if high mpg's is a must then S6 is perhaps not the best choice.

Great to know, thanks! This is encouraging- much better than I was thinking.

Now the second question on a 2017...will the older technology seem really old now that the new tech is out in the 2020s?

    2016 S7 80% highway, Combo of 75mph cruise and on-ramp fun = 20.5mpg over past 10k mi. Best was 26.7mpg 100% highway cruise control. 100% fun = ~11mpg.

APR Stage 3 mods seemed to make my low load highway mileage better. I have seen 50 mile trips with the cruise set at 65mph show 32mpg on the dash. Dash commute miles mixed Street and highway are 16mpg to 18mpg.

    Depends on many factors though.

I cant speak to my S6 as it doesn't have APR tune; but I've have 2 VW cars with APR and I can absolutely say my MPG was better post-tune. Not earth shattering, but a couple mpg higher all the time.

I have Efficiency mode activated and APR stage 1. My real mpg average over the last 12 k miles is 24 mpg with 30% urban and 70%. You can check me in Fuelly too. I use cruise control as much as possible.
In the freeway I go 72.5 mph. I think the car is capable of of decent milaeage but you need to activate COD.
Keep in mind that guys in cold weathers will get worse mileage than somebody in SoCal.

Fuelly.com shows a range of averages based on model year. For the 2013+ S6 platform they range 17.1 - 20.2 MPG.

Their data lists 1995 - 2018 model years

24 MPG at my best, (baby foot, turtle acceleration, efficiency mode, highway).
17-18 at (kinda) worst, mostly in sport and higher revs.
13 MPG when I'm really hooning around.

Haha, amen. My wife's car is full of touch screens and it pisses me off how easily they scratch too.

I'm happy with my MMI screen. 100% pristine since you're not gunking it up with fingerprints every day.

Agreed, F those new touch screens. One of the best things about each of my Audi's was the fact they didn't have stupid touch screens. Like I want to try to guide my hand to an image on a screen while I drive... With the MMI buttons memorized, I don't even have to look.

If you are concerned with the Audi touch screens in the newer models then get the touch screen protection film. Shits expensive, it will break the bank at $20.

My 2018 S6 gets right at 16.5-16.9mpg real world MPG's with mostly around town driving which includes idling. This past week I drove quite a bit for work and ran up to our local ski hill with my daughter. Pretty much all 45-55mph 2 lane driving and I took it easy...... got 18.6mpg on my last tank which I think is one of my best results. I really could care less about fuel economy, the 4.0TT is not an efficient drivetrain by any stretch!!! I didn't buy the car for economy so I really don't care. My 2015 Yukon Denali gets just about the same economy around town so it's pretty much a wash. On the road I think the S6 might do a tad bit better but not much. Honestly my C5 Z06 gets better mileage than both the S6 and Yukon if I keep my foot out of it...... on the highway it's way better than both of them.

Don't want to mess up your data but here's my MPG on my 2014 RS7 which should be similar. I've had it about 3k miles now and mostly have a short residential daily commutes.

Most tanks are 14-15 MPG (using Fuelio app for tracking)

Currently at 1/2 tank which included a 100 mile freeway trip and I assume this will be much better tank (pic attached)

I was wondering why I wasn't getting the 17/27 listed on the sticker when I first got it but like everyone said these Audis are cars to enjoy.IMG_20200212_122948.jpg

LOL have you seen that touchscreen in the Stinger? Kia clearly doesn't have the word ergonomics in their dictionary. You will have gorrila arm just trying to use it to do anything... And that's if you don't wreck leaning way the hell over to reach that POS

On a side note, the radio in my vw passat is touch screen, but it's not a gloss finish, so it doesn't collect the fingerprints or give a nasty glare like gloss does. I drove an etron when I picked up my S6, that would be a neverending screen cleaning nightmare.

I値l slap 40 miles on my S6 everyday and I hit about 19.8 Mpg (so the car says), this included a lot of highway driving however keep in mind the on and off ramps as well as open stretches all count as a nascar track to me, so I値l drop it 2 gears and floor it until I知 40 over then reel it back down. Then once I知 off the bigger roads I値l race through the back roads like a rally driver. Every stop sign is a drag strap btw. Point being I drive like a bank robber and get somewhere around 20 Mpg.

Pretty sure the OP and others knew the MPGs wouldn't be like buying a Prius. Also pretty sure the OP didn't think he'd be wanting to get the same gas mileage at 12mpg as my 1995 F350 with a 7.5l 460 in it. Though it was only a test drive... must've been one heck of a test drive!

I also agree, you aren't buying this vehicle trying to coast down hills in Neutral, or putting cruise control on at 65mph to squeeze every last drop of gas you can. Enjoy the car. Have fun - within the limits of the law of course

Not sure how some of you are getting well into the mid-upper 20's for mileage??? I find the DIC to be optimistic on it's calculated mileage vs. doing the real math. I guess if you're driving 55-65mph and easy on the gas, it's possible but real world highway driving is more like 75-80mph and there is no way you're going to bang out 25+mpg at those speeds. Also was thinking that parts of the country where fuel has 10% ethanol will lead to lower real world gas mileage.
