    wheel/tire fitment question on S3

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hii,
wanted to confirm the Nuespeed RSe102 19x9 +45 will fit with no rubbing on my S3 with 034 springs...can I do a 255 tire or would 245 make more sense in a Michelin?

From what I've seen/read it will be close up front...

    Thanks!

Most guys will direct you to the aggressive wheel Fitment thread for s3....if u mean 255/35 19. Then no. A 255/30/19 would work. Probably the 245/35/19 in the Michelin since they run wide and give u more sidewalk then the 30 aspect ratio

    245/35 it is

I’ve read it all as well. Multiple times for reference. People run 19x9.5 in et 45, then have to stretch the 245/35s.....on a 19x9 inch et 45 the 245/35 should be money w the moderate drop of 034 springs.

I will be putting some Tarmacs on my S3 that are 19x9.5 et45. I think ill need 5mm spaces all around and then ill be putting the widest tire I can without pulling my fenders and rubbing as its a daily driver.

The only reason I have 9.5s instead of 9s is because I bought them for my B8 S4 (piece of shit) and then sold the B8 because its a piece of shit. And now I am stuck with 9.5s when i would have preferred 255s on a 9 instead of 245ish on a 9.5.

Why do people try to buy the widest wheels they can find only to stretch on skinny tires to fit? I thought the whole point of getting wider wheels is so you can fit on wider tires?

Im with you... but I refuse to take a massive hit trying to sell the wheels I bought for another car just to buy the same ones to go down .5"s. Especially since I know a way to make them fit. Its not ideal and I hate stretch but im also not tracking this car... so it may not be too bad... hopefully

I'm running a 19x9 ET40 with 235/35 tires on KW Variant 2 coilovers that is running 25.25" FTG clearance and I do not have any rubbing.

That is the exact same setup I'm currently running. Have 245 and wish I had gone with 255.

Hmm really? I'd like to do 255 if possible...might just do it and see what happens. Sounds like if any rubbing occurs it will be minimal and probably only with multiple passengers in my car. ..which doesn't happen often. Just gonna have to start asking people how much they weigh before entering.

I've seen a few people running 255 on 19x9 45 with varying spring setups. None have rubbing issues.

I'm on the RS3 stagger 255/235 on 18x9ET30. No rubbing whatsoever even when I had 4 big people in the car so ET40 is 10mm more clearance but I have Plenty of room. Next time I'll go 265/245. The stagger is important for handling, but if that's not a priority you can run them square, but there is less room in the back and you'd have to run more camber than optimal in the back. Note I'm lowered on 034 springs and also have the 034 front camber plates - the lowering reduces clearance, but the front camber plates give some back. I'm also running less camber than stock in back (again for handling) but still plenty of room.
