    ET40 vs ET45

Hi folks, looking to buy s4 2013 rims for my 2017 s6. Looks like they should fit but would just need spacers right? S4 rims are et40. S6 specs saying should be et45. Rest of the specs looks ok 19x8.5, 66.5mm center bore.

    Should work with spacers right?

    Thanks!

You may not even need the spacers. Depends on how the wheel looks. But you are correct, a 5mm spacer will make the offset equal.

Plug in the wheel and tire combos here to compare and see what the result will be.

If the S4 and S6 wheels are the same width, the S4 wheels will be pushed farther out towards the fenders due to lower offset (-5mm).

Saw a few threads saying it may not work. Not an offset issue but issue with the big s6 brakes running or not clearing the 19” rim. Apparently there are few factory 19 options for s6

You need to test fit them. It’s the only true way of knowing.

We are et32, so these would sit much further in towards the inside of the car. I don’t know about spacers for clearance, but you will need them to make your car look normal. Also check the clearance around the barrel of the wheel and your caliper, this is one of the main reasons many 19” will not fit S6/7

I will also tell you this. I just put 20x9 ET25 wheels on the front of my S6 with originally has 20x8.5 ET45s.

oh wait, this is S6, not 7...forgot the et was different between the two. My previous statement still stands about the brake clearance, those are the same on both.

Ya the brake clearance is the deal breaker. Hoping someone could give me a definitive answer whether these would fit ...don’t really want to try them on the car before purchasing. Might just not buy and stick with 20s. Less risk.

As everyone mentioning, it’s not merely the offset issue. It’s more on the rim and spoke design that needs to clear. Unless someone has the exact setup, no one would be able to confirm definitely.

19 in peelers I picked up second hand did not fit my S6 (I think they were from a b8 S4). The barrel has a bulge part way in that won't clear part of the brake system. I don't know if there are different types of peelers.
Some 19 in rims will fit, the winter set I bought from Audi clears, tire rack has a rim selector that worked when I had aftermarket winter rims.
