Remote Start for your Audi Q5 - SQ5 New England Area - Massachusetts


For the last few years I have even an authorized installer for a brand of vehicle remote start systems. Currently have them installed in all of our Audi vehicles, 09 B8 A4 Avant , 14 B8.5 RS5 , 23 B9.5 SQ5 and can honestly say , we have not had one single issue. From using the oem key fob to using the newly released GSM app , I can honestly say that the connivence has been incredible. Especially with the unpredictable New England Weather.

For Most of the newer vehicles 2018 - , the system is plug and play ( with some additional coding on the remote start module done by installer ) easily removable for anyone worried about their Audi Factory Warranty

With the newer cars a key is required to stay in the vehicle for remote start. If paired with the GSM phone app , you wont even miss the key !
You phone will replace the key meaning you can drive your vehicle with just your phone alone !

My Personal Experience - All my vehicles have been to the dealer with this system installed and has never been noticed and does not give any codes when the vehicle is looked over by Audi ! No trace

I heard from someone from the UK and they say that remote engine start is not allowed because of some safety reasons. I might not just be the UK, might be Europe as a whole.

Yes for Cars with stick it’s not allowed, unless you do it aftermarket, which is what this unit is. But cool if it works. GLWS.

Pretty sure the Oem Keyfob remote is a factory item ! Installing a remote starter in a vehicle and then using your factory remote to start the car would be the case ! Pretty sure any audi owner that has made it all the way to AUDIZINE would be knowledgeable enough to know that correct ! AUDI DOES NOT COME WITH REMOTE STARTS HENCE THE MODULES BEING USED WOULD BE AFTERMARKET !

There are several options on the internet for GOOD and RELIABLE remote starts...
I am debating between two brands...will make a decision this weekend.
One is the 12volt (600USD) and the other is the Lessco Electronics (198USD) BIG DIFFERENCE in price, and I am in the process of researching about them...
SO far the Lessco wins in every aspect for a fraction of the price.

Do either of these use a separate fob? I have the Mods4Cars module to control the up\down of the roof on my Cabriolet, so I would need a separate fob.

UPDATE: 12volt does offer "2 long range remote fobs".... but then the price jumps to $720! Also, it would likely require (regardless of if you use OEM remotes or fob) "Stage 2 programming" where you install everything, do Stage 1 programming, then remove the module and ship it back to them (in Tulsa, OK) and they will do the Stage 2 programming, then ship back to you. The do have a "cap" that will allow you to drive your car with all the wiring there but without the module. alrightythen.... bit too much hassle for me. I'll walk my happy-hind-end out to the car to start it...

Not allowed to let car idle, that why audi has stop/start.

I had an idatastart in my c7 a6. Didnt need a key. Just transferred it to my b8 sq5 but that needs a sacrificial key so I used that plastic key that fits into the fob in the glovebox.
