Thanks a lot for your reply. So I will aim something like you said, or as I found on some website suggested sizes :
    245/45R18 99V
    8Jx18 ET39

    255/40ZR19 100Y
    8.5Jx19 ET45

    255/35ZR20 97Y
    8.5Jx20 ET45

    This would probably be okay.
    Thanks again!

I have a 2012 A6 sline and put Rotiform KPS (concave) 20x10 35 offset. Fit well in the back, in the front it doesnt, you need a 3mm minimum spacer and to change the bolt holding the cover of the caliper and the anti rattle spring, because the head of the bolt is to big and because its concave doesnt fit. Now everything is in place and well. I could send picture if you want.

OOOO tell me more about the bolt, what did you change it to? I shaved mine with a grinder and while it works well, I'd like to have a smaller bolt so I don't struggle to get it off because the Torx barely grips and slips. On our SQ5 we have to run spacers just to clear the bolt, and even bigger spacers when new pads go in.

I change it with a hex bolt and shaved the hex head as thin as possible but with enought grip to be able to remove it when needed. I used a Stainless steel hex bolt. I will try to take a picture.

I’m a bit confused about wheel offsets on my 2012 A6. I got a cheap set of F1R F106 in 18x8.5 ET 35 with a 245/45/18 Crossclimate2 to run in the winter. These don’t clear the calipers. I thought ET 35 was the right offset. It looks like a 12mm spacer would definitely solve this, but I was hoping not to need a spacer. What offset should I have gone with for an 18x8.5?

Offset requirements change with the wheel width and spoke design. An 18" is probably you're problem. That's a small tight wheel for the S6 caliper.

Thanks for the reply. The stock wheels on this were 18x8 and from what I can tell with research the ET is 39. I’m guessing going from 18x8 to 18x8.5, the extra 4 mm of offset isn’t enough.

As nthusiast points out...it depends on wheel/spoke design.
Yes stock is 18x8 ET39 but that does not necessarily mean that a differently designed 18x8.5 ET35 wheel will fit.
It is an extra 4mm of offset but it overall moves the wheel 2mm in toward the suspension...which should be fine for most wheels or an identically designed wheel as stock, but perhaps not for the F1R 106.

I thought these were going to work out since the spokes flare out pretty aggressively. They’re currently installed with a 35mm bolt on spacer. I probably need a 5-12mm spacer to make them work. Will be pulling them off tomorrow and evaluating if I want a new wheel or if I’m going to make these work.

Aside from fitment, it turns out hyper black isn’t really black at all. Out in the sunlight they look pretty much silver. Not really what I was expecting based on the picture I saw when I bought them.

Hello everyone. I'm looking for input on whether a 20x10 et25 TSW Bathurst would clear the calipers on a a6. From my understanding, et33~35 would clear but I want a deep look and would like to know if spacers would be necessary. If anyone has, can you share pics of what a 20x10 et25 wheel would look on an a6?

I plan on retaining the stock S Sport suspension so it will keep its "stock" ride height. I was going to get 265/35/20 pilot sport 4s. Also for what its worth, current brake pads/rotors have about 15k miles on them.

Any input/advice would gladly be appreciated. Also, if anyone is familiar with running a brushed aluminum/silver color on a tornado grey or similarly colored car and can share pics that would be appreciated as well

    @nthusiastt
I recall I saw another wheel thread in here somewhere with your A6? Edit.. found it!
In regards to the TSW Bathurst, I saw one running 10,5x21 ET 43 with 275/35. Looked great!
    On an allroad, but nevertheless..

I appreciate all the info that has been posted above, but I still have some questions regarding tire sizes. I'm looking at a combination of Superspeed RF05RR 20x9.5 ET35 with BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE-71RS 285/35R20. I have a 2013 S6 with 400mm brakes, VCDS to raise/lower, and I have 034 adjustable camber arms up front. Given my setup would these tires fit and work well for autocross without any rubbing or modification of my fenders (changes to fenders would put me in a non-stock class)? I would eventually like to do some HSDE as well. I don't care how flush they are or any of that, just want to go fast! Apologies in advance for reviving a dead post.

    Thanks,

    Matt

You will rub on that setup if you lower the vehicle. If you keep it high, it shouldn't rub but may still rub on full lock. 285 is too wide especially on an R-compound or race tire where the contact patch is always wider.

If you're looking for a usable setup without rubbing, you should be looking at 265's.

Hoping someone can give me a quick sanity check:

2018 S6 looking to move to an ET35 21x9 and run a 275/30-21 Michelin pilot sport 4s. Car is lowered with a CETE controller. I don’t need to have a perfectly flush fit but do not want it to poke or rub. I THINK this should be a few mm shy of flush and issue free. I’d like to get tires on the way but won’t be able to mock up the wheel fitment for about a week.

Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 1.6mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 14.4mm more than before.

Responding to myself, I’m now thinking about going down to a 265 for a rounder profile and potentially being able to achieve a more flush fitment with spacers if desired.

Thank you nthusiastt for the info. Speaking of 265s, anyone have any experience with 265/35R20 YOKOHAMA ADVAN NEOVA AD09 or the MICHELIN PILOT SPORT CUP 2 CONNECT for Auto X with the S6? They're my top two picks in that size. My main concern is with how they handle the heat our beautiful but heavy gals create lol

I guess it's an "eye of the beholder" thing, but I did not want any of the tire to stick out past the top of the fender. It could just be that specific combo of BBS CH-R and MPSS, but I wasn't willing to take that risk when ordering.

Whole set of pics Don't misunderstand, I still think it looks great, but for me the 20x9 ET35 was perfect.

    HI,

I have a 2016 A6 Avant, BiTDI version, with OEM air suspension.

I would like to fit Concaver CVR1 21x9.5 ET30 (I preferred ET35, but Concaver guys told me they would not fit in front because of brake caliper).
    Tyres: 265/30

Can anyone tell me if this combination will fit?
I took some measurements and it seems to me that they would come very close to the fenders...

    Thanks!
