Barsotti's in San Ramon, while North Bay is literally one of the top Audi Rated shops in SF Bay - 5 stars on pretty much all reviews.
i've had THREE Audi's repaired by them for various issues, but the most extensive of which required an almost complete rebuild of the interior.
I had just purchased a 2008 S6 - 18K miles.
Dealer said there was no issues with it except some scratches on the bumper, etc., which they agreed to fix.
The place they sent it to originally, did such poor work - and tried to fix it 3 additional times, that finally they sent me to Barsotti's.
They dug into the car, with overspray all over the hood, doors, fenders, trunk, quarter panels, etc., and what they found underneath ended up costing the dealer $28K in repairs for misrepresenting the car.
Barsotti's found significant "non-frame" damage, and ended up having to pull the ENTIRE interior out, including all factory clips and the headliner, seats, etc., reapply the rust protection from the factory, strip all body panels down to the metal, re-prime, repaint to exact factory spec (it was a custom color), etc., etc.
It took 2 MONTHS (they are NOT fast, but they are absolutely detailed).
Car went in with several rattles, came out with not a single one, they re-aligned the vehicle, because it had been up/off lifts so frequently they wanted to be safe.
I visited the car weekly, they had wrapped every component of the interior with plastic wrap for protection, did NOT re-install the original headliner (opted for a replacement), replaced ALL clips with factory new, etc. Much of the interior hardware that connect interior panels to the body were completely replaced to ensure an OEM fit - this is why they take so long.
They will honor insurance quotes without changing their methods because my other two cars were insurance claims, versus dealer paid and there was not a single issue.
Ask for Lars.
I'm serious - I would drive from Nevada to NorCal before I would let another shop touch my car.
