Jerk or Bump when shifting to Sports mode

    Hi everyone,

I'm a new member with a C7 RS6 Avant based in Tokyo. I came across this forum and hope some here can help me with my problem.

When shifting into Sport mode (using the gear, choosing dynamic or individual with the transmission on dynamic), the is a slight bump or jerk. This happens every time it changes into dynamic mode. The strange this is it does not do it when the car is on an incline.

I can't quite work out what could be causing this. My initial thoughts were that it could be the transmission mounts but I don't see how the transmission would do this since it's not moving - I gather the dynamic mode only changes the shifts.

FYI, my car has less than 30,000kms so it shouldn't be that worn out.

Is this happening when you're moving or stationary? What year is your car and are you still under warranty?

2014 RS6 and no longer with warranty.

This happens in stationary. Nothing when shifting into drive or reverse. While in drive, the car will have a slight jerk when shifting the transmission to Sports Mode. Everything else is fine. It is almost like when an old car has worn engine mounts and you shift from drive to reverse. The thing is however, it only does this when changing to Sports mode.

My S6 will do that when in motion and switching to sport mode as the rpms jump. I'll have to switch while not in motion and see. If I have done this in the past I wasn't paying attention. I'm usually in motion before I switch into sport

The jerk when in motion is typically downshifting from moving the trans selector to sport mode. In my A7 I will be running in 6th gear in comfort mode and then shift to sport and it will shift to 4th or maybe 5th gear. I have never experienced a jerk when shifting stationary though.
