Carpro Bluetooth connected but AMI no device recognized?

I have a 2012 s4 with nav, so 2.5g mmi? It didnt have factory Bluetooth music streaming so I added a carpro unit (similar to Bovee) to the 30pin ami connector.
Its worked fine for a year and now it still shows connected on my phone but no music comes out, and the source selection in the mmi shows the ami connection as having nothing connected (but it must be getting power because my phone is connected to it).
Ive tried unpairing and repairing, unplugging and replugging the carpro and the ami cable.

Happens to me a few times but I simply disconnect the MMI cable then the CarPro. Reconnect the MMI cable then the CarPro and it reconnects in a few seconds.
Life has taught me never try to make something idiot proof, they'll simply come up with a better idiot.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.

I had the car pro for a few years and it was miserable to the point i just quit using it. I just switched to tune2air it hasnt given me issues thus far, its only been a couple weeks though.

I tried disconnecting the cable, but Ill try again.

If I cant get it to work I may try buying the tune2air.

I blew in the connector Nintendo-style and it worked this time! Second times a charm I guess.
    Thanks.
