RS3 OPF to pre OPF sound

Which of these would get me closest to the pre OPF sound on my RS3. A decat downpipe or a miltek non res catback?

Downpipe is half the price but would need to remap as apparently removing the OPF filter throws up a lot of errors or something? Also it’s going to be pretty much same price as a catback after all that. Would also void a lot more warranty wise.

Not sure if catback would give enough sound though. Anyone got any experience with an OPF car?

IMO neither will do it as well as a Stage 1 tune that has an overrun file for crackles and pops.

Not really too bothered about the cracks and popples, makes it sound like abit of a ricer if it’s too excessive. Just want the overall sound to be louder.

You don’t get OPF fitted cars in US, that’s why.

U.S. 2019 RS3s do not come with OPF, as far as I know they are just tuned differently to not have pops.

Basically just get a stage 1 tune that includes burbles and you'll have a similar sound to the 2018s

SIMPLE - Mid-pipe (cat delete), go Miltek (~$250). Will solve your problem with the OPF sound restriction. You don't need downpipe or full exhaust imo, just midpipe.

I have a pre-OPF, but standard (non sport) exhaust. I added the mid-pipe and it's just as loud, if not louder than a pre-OPF sport exhaust car. I LOVE it!

I can’t find the Miltek mid pipe on their website at all. Would rather buy directly from manufacturer than eBay or second hand. HG motorsport have Bull-X mid popes for $450 so might end up going for them.

The OPF filter has sensors and stuff so if removed it will show an error code etc. Mid pipes won’t have any effect on the actual OPF filter at all will they? I’m not too clued up on exhausts. I’m assuming the OPF filter is part of the downpipe?

Yes, that is correct, OPF filter is on the downpipe and there are 4 sensors on it I believe. All of them must be mapped out.
