    Ken_C's Wurkwagon | 2016 Allroad "build"

Kenny here; long time Audizine lurker or single poster and general motorsports enthusiast. With the holidays, I finally got a few free minutes to type up an introduction and share the beginnings of my first ever wagon "build".

Backstory: A couple years ago I swapped my B7 RS4 for a 5th Gen 4Runner and a Uhaul. Packed up the wife, dogs and unborn daughter to relocate from Texas (Austin) to Cali (Bay Area). Getting rid of the RS hurt, but driving the lunchbox 60 miles everyday, at Bay Area gas prices, with no outlet for "spirited" driving was much worse...so the search began.

    Recent "Build" History:
B7 RS4, pre Allroad - Mostly brake upgrades, garage queen because i travelled too much :/

    E92 335i, pre RS4 - Cobb Stage 2+, KW v2 and 19x9.5-19x10

    The "Build": Wurkwagon
Goal - A solid, reliable and fun daily driver that looks great but handles and stops well with enough space for a carseat and stroller.

After searching and negotiating prices with a couple dealers for a few months, Audi of Tacoma landed a car to the exact spec and mileage range I wanted. August 2018 I officially joined the Allroad club.

    2016 Allroad Premium Plus
    Brilliant Black
    8spd Tiptronic
    Sport Package Chestnut Interior
    Bang & Olufsen
    Panoramic Sunroof

How she looked shortly after delivery and a birthday road-trip to French Laundry.

After driving for about a month and procuring wheels, suspension and brake bits, I dropped her off at 034 Motorsports for some tweaking.

Next up was adding a tad more power via Unitronic. I've got a good, long history with APR but I really missed Cobb's flash at home options. Uni+ seems to fit the bill so far.

Did I mention this was also my first black car...swirl marks, ugh. So, I scheduled some time at OC Detailing in Fremont for a correction and Ceramic Coat.

    Pic from OC's site

Quick Coyote Hills stop, post detail. Felt cute...might delete after a real photoshoot

I think that covers most of it, for now.

That's a great looking, well-optioned and tastefully modded allroad. Looking forward to seeing its progress.

Nice plan you got yourself for your allroad. Great job scoring a nicely equipped wagon! Congrats!

Pretty sure every allroad build on AZ has used that damn scuba for inspiration.....guilty 🤷*♂️

    Very nice Allroad!

Question about the KW HAS: how high can it be set? Factory height?
Are the adjustable control arms required to go to your height (25.5" or 26")?

On HAS height - 26.5-~27". Don't think factory height is possible, at least not on all corners. My rears, even at this height, don't have much room to go higher.
On control arms - I think it's preference to be honest. I went with a meatier tire all around and wanted the adjustability if I started to see issues or change setups. That said, there are people here much lower that don't run them at all.

How is the ride quality compared to stock? I want a slight drop to work with my 19" Rotor wheels but do not want a rough ride. Some reason I can't find the brake parts on 034 motorsport website?

It’s firmer than stock on 034 lowering springs. I wouldn’t call it rough.
