    Blacking Out Headlights

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Was considering blacking out the headlight housing of my S4 instead of tinting so that I don't affecting lighting and avoid in long search for aftermarket headlights since I like the OEM look.

Has anyone already done this on the B9 and if so did you get good results?

    The look I'm going for..

That top photo was from a company out in Norwalk CA called Evil Headlights. They quoted me $400 for blackout and amber delete. I will schedule my headlight work with them late Jan. I recommend this over tinting your lights as tinting will reduce light output and might get you a ticket. And it doesn’t look as clean (but way cheaper and easier for sure)

That's why I avoided tinting. But same, $350 for both headlights on my S4 but no opening until February for availability to do my two cars and two bikes. Was trying to see if it was realistic to make it a day of DIY because I don't want to screw up the weather proofing when I reassemble

Exactly the look I was going for. It looks amazing on the white like I thought it would. How long was the turn around time and cost if you don't mind sharing?

I thought about dropping the car off for their demon eyes next time I go to jersey but I didn't commit to it

I blacked out on s5 recently (https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...5-today/page13). Should be towards bottom of that link with some follow up questions on the next page. It’s not a terrible process. Been over a month and absolutely no regrets or problems since

Turn around is 5 business days, they charged me $500. Shipping was pretty expensive but that is because I'm in colorado and did expedited shipping plus insurance, so total cost with shipping was roughly $1k.

No issues with the light projection, the only thing I had to do was re-adjust the beam, was simple just need a screwdriver to turn the headlight adjustment.

That's really surprising that there is no degradation of the lighting quality. I guess that's because it's projectors and not reflectors?

Then I might end up just driving my car over there. The price is around 1k with the install for the demon eyes with RGB controller. They did the work on my E90 335 a few years back

It's not tinting. They blackout the entire housing with the exception of the actual projection lights and DRLs so it doesn't affect any of the lighting components. Pretty sure they use heat resistant paint

A buddy of mine did it for me. I only paid 800 for the wrap. It's pearl matte white but it glows a faint white in the dark.
