Post A4 B8.5 VAG COM CODE - PADDLE SHIFTERs

    Hi All,

I am looking to install a new steering wheel with paddle shifters for my 2016 A4. Can anyone assist with the VAG COM Coding to get them to work once installed? I have called a couple local shops around me and none of them really seemed confident that it would work.

I would like to have all the info in order prior to purchasing a new wheel.

I've gone through all the old forums, but any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Looks like you only need to do the address 16 coding.

Yea I watched this the other day, I would really like to hear from someone who has done it for a model year closer to mine.

I installed a 2016 B8.5 S5 wheel in my 2012 B8 A4. It was the same as the video if I recall. The only instructions I had were from another forum:

    16 - Steering Wheel
    07 - Coding
    Long Coding Helper
    Byte 2
    Bit 5 (Tiptronic Installed)
Check the Box (Change from 0 to 1)

I don’t think the bit was exactly the same but the content was: telling the steering wheel (16) that tiptronic was installed. Works perfectly and finally lets me shift gears in “S” instead of “D” as well.
