How to Dyno B8.5 S4 with DSG

Hey guys, for the last few hours I have been searching through google and here in the forums and can’t find an answer. I have a 2015 S4 with DSG and I went to get the car dynoed to get a baseline number before going IE Stage 2 dual pulley. We loaded the car on there and first tried a 4th gear pull at 3k rpm on a Mustang Dyno. As soon as we started the car downshifted to 3rd. So we attempted again but in 3rd fear this time. The car seemed to have gone into limp mode and only reads 200hp. What are we doing wrong? I even took the car off the Dyno to drive it down the street and back to get the car back to normal in order to take off the traction control.

Maybe a stupid response....was your traction control fully disengaged? If all 4 wheels are moving at the same rate of speed on a dyno, i'm not sure why it would kick out. Wait for others to chime in.

you just wanna put the gaz pedal 1'' from the end of it, i mean, you have a ''switch'' at the end of the pedal, it engage the kickdown, just put your foot on the pedal with the car OFF you will sens it ! enjoy!

Does it kick down when in manual? I have not experienced that happening.

Apparently I'm not pushing down hard enough with my right foot.

Yes, I pushed and held the button so it was completely off. When it goes into limp mode, it seems to re-engage. I either have to wait a while or drive the car off the Dyno in order for everything to clear. Then I can take traction control off again.

Are you referring to trying to Dyno it in 4th gear? If so, I didn’t know that switch would activate the downshift to optimal gear. I will try it.

Either way, I still need to understand why it keeps going into limp mode mid Dyno run. The parking brake light malfunction light comes on, ECS malfunction comes on and I think there was something else that displayed on the cluster.

I called integrated engineering and the sales guy asked a tech. They suggested disconnecting one of the ABS sensors, sounds kind of weird.

Today on the highway I tried out the pedal switch. I always knew there was a switch but didn’t understand what it was for. It is correct, I was able to stay in 4th gear until I hit the switch. Once I hit the switch it would down shift.

I will try that when I go in to try to Dyno the car again.

I’m still trying to figure out if there is some sort of Dyno mode that prevents the car from going into limp mode.
