RS6 as option comes with 22" and they look just right... Ridiculous.

Thought I would share my test drive experience and info:
We did get the P+ in black with "full body paint" at the local dealership. It looks fantastic in person, and would be a perfect replacement for my b8.5. The overall size is perfect and exactly what I was hoping for. The interior and new touchscreen dash systems are extremely nice (although I still wish we has a sport seat option). The quick drive was pleasant and would certainly be an upgrade over the b8.5, but I wasn't too impressed with the power and felt it would require a tune to be happy with it. Suspension seems to be a bit tighter around the corners, without sacrificing overall ride comfort. I tried to play with the suspension height, but it didn't really appear to increase or lower, probably just need to play with it more.
I spoke with them about the Exclusive options, which I was glad to hear they do offer some for the A6 allroad, but it is limited. This would add about $10k to the overall price, so all said and done, I would be at $95k and 6-9 months out for the one I would get. With that info, there is no way I could ever justify spending nearly $100k for an allroad and sadly, I have officially started the hunt for a used Panamera.
The dealer also said that there were only about 300 A6 allroad's in process of being manufactured currently and a limited amount in stock at the moment, so it does seem like they are pushing for orders and that there will be a very limited total amount of A6 allroad in the USA. This makes me very curious for the RS6 avant...

I don’t doubt that the dealer told you this, but I doubt very much that it’s true.

I am skeptical on what they say as well, but it wouldn't shock me if it was true. I don't think there are any Prestige options available yet which is interesting.

Well some initial thoughts after spending some more time in the car.

Exterior: I'm still in love with the wagon. Looks great. The dark color however is killing me to try and keep looking good. Already seeing swirls in the paint and 30 seconds after washing, it's dirty. I definitely need to get it in for a clear bra and paint protection.

Interior: Gorgeous. I think they really did a nice job with the design of the interior. The wood inlays and front dash look amazing. I do wish the seats had more side support however. I had the sport seats in the S6 and the Allroad seats feel a bit flat. I'll have to play around with the adjustments to see if I can find something that works better for longer drives.

I'm getting used to the engine/transmission and feel better about the overall drive feel of the car. It's got enough acceleration and power to be a fun car to drive. It feels big when you throw it into a turn at high speeds but behaves well.

The lane keep assist works better than any other car I've driven. I've had 4 other cars with this feature, including the S6, and the Allroad system works great. Unfortunately the adaptive cruise control is quite the opposite. It's horrible to the point where I may not use it. In traffic, the car brakes dramatically instead of slowing and easing to a slow roll or stop. It just jams on the breaks and seems not only uncomfortable for the occupants but dangerous for the vehicles behind you. It also is slow to react to acceleration. Again, I'll have to look at the various settings to see if I can adjust things to get this working better.

I can post a more thorough review in early March if anyone is interested. My wife and I are taking a 6 day road trip at the end of February so I'll have a lot more time behind the wheel and in the passenger seat.

How is the throttle lag issue?

One thing I noticed when I had an A6 loaner was that it felt fwd most of the time unless it was in Dynamic mode. Is the allroad like this too?

Now that I have had some time with the car, the throttle lag is definitely better. Still there but I'm not as concerned as I was initially. However, there was an odd occurrence while trying to accelerate from about 35 - 65 while merging onto a highway but it was one time and I haven't noticed it before so i'll definitely pay attention and see if the issue persists. It almost felt like the car decided not to accelerate once it hit a certain speed.

I have been driving in Auto mode mostly which definitely seems like more power is going towards the front wheels. I will be checking all drove modes next week however as I plan to head up into the mountains outside of Buena Vista, CO and it's about a 2 1/2 hour drive with the last 5 or 6 miles on dirt roads.

Perhaps the transmission just had to learn your driving habits, good to know it's no longer a concern though.

The front drive feel has turned me off of the Quattro-Ultra equipped cars. While I'm sure you'll never get stuck in the snow, I like the feel of, for lack of better wording, "true" quattro through the corners. I'm sure if one was inclined the right Individual setting on the ADS could remedy this.

Anyways, it sounds like you have a nice drive planned and the perfect car for the trip! Have fun with the new ride!

I'm also considering an A6 Allroad Prm+. I have two Greyhounds so need a wagon to hall them around, currently have a Golf Sports Wagen and a BMW X5 35d. I'll probably sell both and get the Allroad as I prefer not to have two cars. Would one of you, who already has an Allroad, mind take three measurements for me?

    1) Length of cargo area (with rears seats folded down) from back of cargo area to back of front seats
    2) Cargo area opening width
    3) Height of cargo area inside of the cargo area.

    I'd really appreciate it.

75 inches from front seat back to rear of cargo. Keep in mind the back seats do not fold completely flat, there is a slight angle.
    41 inches width
28 inch height on average. Depends on where you measure.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I just put in an order for a Typhoon Gray Prestige Allroad! It's replacing my perfectly-fine-but-kinda-small 2012 A4 Avant S-Line which... I should think about how to sell now.

A couple things I've noticed: first, that according to dealer stock photos, the plastic wheel arches (which I hate) remain matte even when you order full paint finish. The dealer contacted corporate and was told that it is a gloss finish but the underlying texture is different. Which is confusing to me since the A4 Allroad has glossy finish on the wheel arches when you get full paint finish. Second thing I asked about was about the headlights, they can't spec the cooler-looking ones that are available on the sedan S-line (I think... in any case I mean the ones shown in the Euro-spec imagery, except with DOT-compliant amber sidemarkers). Oh well.

In any case, I'm very excited! Also added the luxury pack (because seats are important) and all-wheel steering (because I have a tight driveway). Spoiling myself.

I think it’s really quite frustrating they are not doing a gloss finish on the full body paint. I just don’t understand, WHY?

Agree, and it's also really quite frustrating that they don't just offer up the Avant! I bemoan the "ruggedization" but at the same time I think it's the best we're going to get, and I can get used to it.

Here are links to photo's of two Allroads with the full body paint. It's hard to tell in these pics but that seems odd to me for $1000 to not have gloss paint.

I'm sure by now you've gotten used to the feel. I wish it came with a supercharger. Its too bad Audi discontinued that offering, but hopefully, they're able to reincorporate that in a future model. :)
