I honestly thought it was going to be a 2021 model, but Audi decided to move it up apparently.

Thoughts? The gold wheels is an interesting choice on the sportback..

Honestly, I can barely tell a difference. I'm already looking forward to the complete redesign in the next 3-4 years.

They're still doing that horrid stuck on screen for 2020 models?

Exactly! I guarantee it will be integrated in the redesign. They can't move away from that design fast enough.

I like the look. Really the lights and the grille/hood are the only things that look different. And yeah, they need to redesign the screen/console

At least its not a cheap looking one like we have. I feel our screens look so cheap! Even compared to the screen in my wifes Q7. Hers is thiner with a small bezel and ours looks just plain cheap.

Pre-FL design is better. Audi's new design language for RS rear diffusers is really bad (RS6 included).

I like the headlights better on the 2020, but the back end looks more sedan like. The 2019 back end is better looking in my opinion. I am thankful I pulled the trigger on the 2019 though seeing that they removed the scroll wheel from the inside. I hate touch screens in cars so much, so I'm glad I got a model with the scroll wheel. Touch screens make no sense when you need to keep your eyes on the road, they are so distracting because you have to be perfect with your finger.

Soooo, I think everyone who just bought a 2019 probably says this, but I like mine better. The front of the 2020 looks pretty good, but not as aggressive. I don't care for the rear diffuser and rockers at all. It's a shame they didn't do more to the interior (I'm looking at you, tacked on screen). As much as I wish my 2019 was touch screen, I think that bigger screen looks even worse on the dash. No 2019 buyer's remorse here.

    I like the headlights.

Maybe Alex@Europrice or someone else will come out with a retrofit for 2019 RS5?

I don't like anything else about this FL more than pre-FL. Whole front other than headlights looks much less aggressive.

And back is significantly worse. For a second I had to check if it was a RS5. Thought it was like a S4 or something more sedan like for a second.

All I want is a fold up/fold down center screen. WITH scroll wheel. Touchscreen is retarded. I don't want to be cleaning that shit every day. I like the interior otherwise.

Glad to have gotten a 2019 with the exact specs I wanted after seeing this :)

100%. I have the exact opinion. Glad I got the one I have but the lights are cool on the new one. The front edge of the hood with the gap is alright too. Also don't dig the hockey stick tach.

I have to agree. The current model looks a bit more 'classy' in my opinion, although I do like the new front and rear light designs.

Good point on that tach, wtf, looks like the new weird BMW one that goes backwards. That front edge of the hood is actually really cool, but if you have a dark colored car not sure you'd notice it enough. It does look great on the white though.

It’s a mixed bag... looks just different enough for guys like us to know the difference. I doubt most would even notice. That MMI screen is way big now... not a fan. Also no change to the driveline or suspension so our 19s are still up to date there. Overall like others have said, imo the 20/21 looks softer and less aggressive.

The "slapped on" MMI screen is my ONLY real gripe with the current B9 design. For the life of me I don't understand why Audi (and BMW and Mercedes) all went to this design on the vehicles at the lower end of their model line ups. It just looks like the screens are an afterthought. What is odd to me is the previous generation versions of these cars (e.g. B8.5, etc.) had the MMI screen integrated into the dash. Our B8.5 allroad and A5 do. My B9 RS5 has the floating screen - it is the ONLY thing I dislike in the car!

Back end looks atrocious IMO. Front bumper doesn't flow well either with the rest of the body. And as much as I love a bigger screen this one does not look proportional with the interior space. In fact it looks very tacky.

The only thing I do like is the addition of the blue color.

Yeah...as much as I’m always up for bigger screens, I’m glad my ‘19 isn’t that screen in the new one. Since it’s tacked on top, it just further reduces the view the bigger it gets.

Does anyone know if the 2020 models are confirmed to have wireless Android Auto / Apple Carplay?

That's the rumor I've heard a couple of times and I'm hoping this is the case as it's something I've been waiting for cars to start coming with for years now.

Same here. With a new baby on the way, I've been toying with the idea of trading my F80 M3 in on an RS5 Sportback to get AWD and a bit more storage space in the rear. And, after experiencing Android Auto in my wife's CX-5, I refuse to buy another car without it. However, despite how much I love using Android Auto, being forced to to plug the phone in to use it nearly ruins the experience. I think I'll be holding off on another car purchase until wireless Android Auto is in the RS5 Sportback or the AWD G80 M3 coming out at the end of this year.

I disagree. I test drove and RS5 last week and compared to the simplicity of my car's gauges, I found the virtual cockpit in the RS5 to be WAY too busy and cluttered, no matter what display settings I set. From what I can see, the new virtual cockpit appears to be more simplified and streamlined. I definitely prefer that.

Eh it’s really not that bad having to plug it in. Get a short 4” cable and it sits nicely in that wireless charging tray.

Yeah, if I had to use it on a daily basis, I'd probably get used to it. And that does remind me that many have reported the wireless implementation of Apple Car play leading to severe lag in music playback, navigation and Siri controls. So if that's the case with wireless Android Auto, then it would be a deal breaker.

We can't have it all, I suppose.

For sure. I love the space in the hatch, I wouldn’t let wires vs wireless kill the decision :)

Fair enough. With that said, I think I'm in the minority that thinks the 2020 RS5 exterior redesign looks better than the outgoing model. When I was looking at a '19 S5 and '19 RS5 side by side at the dealer, I have to admit that they looked almost too similar. The newer aggressive bumper styling will help set the two apart, in my opinion.

For now, I'm thinking I may hold out for that new styling to reach the US. Though, that could be a while and dealers are really starting to throw out some serious deals on remaining '19 RS5s.

The newer aggressive bumper styling will help set the two apart, in my opinion.

For now, I'm thinking I may hold out for that new styling to reach the US. Though, that could be a while and dealers are really starting to throw out some serious deals on remaining '19 RS5s.
I could go either way on the 2020 exterior. I’m not a fan of making the MMI touch only, no wheel and a bigger screen mounted on the dash. Already limited windshield space, I can’t imagine a bigger screen makes it SO much better and worth closing the gap between the rear view mirror and screen. Lol.

I also typically rebadge my cars...I debadged my AMG C63S, and the jury is out whether I keep the RS5 badge on. I like the clean look. All that to say, differentiation is nice, but I don’t care too much either way, because unless it’s parked in a lot, I’m usually just passing someone. ;)
