    RS7 Mileage

Morning guys. Have had my RS7 for about 4 months now and just had the O2 sensor replaced. I am really curious about the mileage everyone is getting. I started using an app called fuelio so I can track my mileage against the published 16/27.

So after my first full tank of Costco has I averaged 12.633 mpg. Over two weeks it was pretty much all residential and city driving mostly commuting miles. I live on a hill also, a lot of starting and stopping over this tank and no highway driving for the most part. Didn't get into the throttle much either except for an occasional boost.

What are most of you getting on your RS7? Thanks.

Fun thread, I'm kind of curious too.

I do a pretty long round trip drive to work down highway/rural back roads and average 21-22 MPG based on the car's estimation. If I'm off work and just tooling around locally, I'd say 16-18 MPG.

I’m 100% city driving, 4-5 miles each way and get 11-12 mpg at best

That's very similar to my commute except 6.5 miles one way and throw in a hills. I guess I'm in line.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

Yes especially if you’re into boost a lot like I’m sure majority of us are. Highway trips I’ll clear 20s

You must be referencing the early 2014 EPA spec. They revised it several times through the years and the last (2018) is probably going to be the closest to reality.
    2014 15/27
    2015 14/25

    2018 14/24

So I wouldn't be concerned with 12-13 city mileage.
It's just if you are expecting that 15/27 or 16/27 that is wishful thinking or your nickname better be "featherfoot".

Seems we are all in line. Not a big fan of the tendency to shift to high gears for fuel economy. I'm generally at 1700 rpm when in comfort mode.

2017 RS7 performance: 15.5mpg according to the car’s computer that I reset 3 months ago when I bought it. I drive in individual mode with engine on comfort. City (suburb) driving but not stop and go: 40mph roads with stop lights every 1/4 to 1/2 mile. 6 miles each way daily.

There are about 39 stoplights in our 38 mile long valley so I average 18-21. My best was a 120 mile stretch between the Nevada border to Salt Lake City, cruise set on 90MPH in an 80 zone, 25MPG.

That's about the sweet spot (90mph) speed-wise for these land yachts.

I don't daily mine, actually haven't driven it for a few months. When I do drive it it's fairly hard and I see just under 10. It eats brakes and gas like they're giving it away.

Daily driven roughly around 15 MPG. I've "hypermile" attempted once a trip coming home from work. 2 AM drive open road cruise control at 65 MPH got about 24 MPG average and that was including stopping and going at traffic lights (albeit slowly accelerating).

I just about never drive like that but was curious what it'll do.

Well my last tank resulted in 12.79 mpg. Typical commuting over 10 days, short trip on Angeles Crest Highway and a bit of heavy footed driving when I let my coworker drive it.

Not an RS7 but a 2018 S6 here....... Over a typical tank of fuel, I encounter a total mix of driving. Handful of short trips (less than 5 miles), typical suburban 30-35mph roads with plenty of lights, 45-50mph roads with few lights and some highway. I almost always end up with a 16.xx average per tank. I've done as bad as 13.xx (more short trips than usual with more idling) and as good as 19.xx (more 45-50mph roads and highway with less short trips/idling). I have never done a straight highway/road trip to see what the absolute best real mileage could/would be. This car gets barely better mileage than my 2015 Yukon Denali with "regular life" driving. On a straight up road/highway trip, I'm sure the S6 would do better but most of us aren't spending the bulk of our miles doing road trips.

In comparison to the RS7, I'd imagine it's a bit thirstier from the engine but having another gear may help offset that a bit???
