    Hey Guys,

Is there any way to get google maps the show up in the navigation section of the dash?

The only navigation that will utilize the smaller section of the VC is the Audi MMI Navigation.

I thought that too. I just watched the new Audi R8 review from The straight pipes and they have a shot at 13:32 with google maps in the dash (link below). Its the same generation infotainment as the B9 S4s.

It's not possible. The TTs are like that, as well. This is because Audi programmed it in a fashion that does not enable Apple CarPlay/Android Auto in the instrument cluster since the R8/TT do not have a center console screen; it's presumably a completely different set of hardware/firmware, too.

This has bugged me from the beginning. I never use the Audi Navigation - only ever use Waze, Google or Apple bc I always run Apple CarPlay. But.... I really like having the navigation in the dash - I like the look.

Was hoping there would be some workaround available to allow for this option.

Not entirely true.. Apple did not add support for displaying CarPlay on secondary devices until iOS 13 this past September -- and carmakers have to build support in to utilize it.

I'm aware of this, but it doesn't take away from the fact that it's displayed in the instrument cluster on the R8, TT, and Lamborghini Huracan as early as 2014-2015. Dual or multiple displays of CarPlay will never be had in the B9.x generations due to firmware limitations. Hell, we're fortunate enough that Audi was nice enough to maintain the widescreen ratio, whereas other auto manufacturers with widescreen displays only get the Apple CarPlay display with letterboxing.

I think what you are seeing in the video is the Google maps overlay, which goes away once Audi connect subscription runs out. It's garbage anyway, as it's not updated, and Waze or real Google maps typically navigate much more efficient than built in navigation.
