Broke clip off ignition coil - what do I do?

So I wanted to change my spark plugs today, and ended up breaking the tab that releases the coil from the harness. The other 2 came off fine, not sure what I did here.

Any ideas to get it loose? I tried needle nose pliers to pull the broken edge down, but that didn't work. Never worked with ICs before, only plugs and wires, so I don't really understand what the clip is releasing from to begin with.IMG_20191126_151805.jpeg

VAG and their damn clips..... Probably could use a pick and a tiny bit of lube to get it free

That happened to me on an A4...actually...twice ;)

Can't be too rough with em...brittle plastic from being in a heat box. First time I actually re-pinned the dang connectors. 2nd time...didn't feel like it was worth the trouble.

That is...an interesting way to break those. Probably the best thing to do as a "right now" fix is to try and break the clip below where you've already broken it. Hopefully you can see from the attached pictures how the clip actually locks onto the coil, and how the part that's broken on yours is what's used to apply apply leverage to release the lock. The clips are relatively easy to replace, but honestly with the wiring harness being secured it's not worth the effort unless they don't stay plugged in.

Thank you for the pics, that's going to help a lot - hopefully I can get to it Friday and figure it out.
