SQ5 Badge for RS Honeycomb Grille

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I recently swapped my SQ5's grill for the RS honeycomb grill and the included badges for the new grill look cheap/cheesy. I'm wondering if anyone has had success mounting an SQ5 badge (either from the replaced grill or bought) on their RS grill. The black badge from tagmotorsports looks nice but not sure if it will mount properly on the honeycombs.

Minor issue I know, but any help would be much appreciated!

Took some a bunch of custom work, but it came out pretty good.

Removed the old badge, cut off the plastic that protrudes out the back, modified the holder that came with the RS grille, and joined the two together. Measured and mounted it as close as possible to where it was on the stock grille.

Looks good, what grill did you end up buying? Trying to find one with the Quattro logo but without spots for a front license plate mount since they make it look a little off.

Same question, Berk. There are scores of these type grills on eBay and it’s hard to sort through them.

My car is Brilliant Black. A pure black grill would be invisible. Yours has the bright border and the Quattro logo to provide some contrast. It looks fantastic. Was it true plug-and-play, or was some trimming needed?

SQ5 Badge for RS Honeycomb Grille

It’s just an eBay one, and I spent hours modifying it. After taping off and using a dremel to remove the main blanks, I hand filed all 5 openings to perfection with needle files. Then, I re-taped them and touched them up with a gloss black enamel.

Of course, then there’s a bunch of modifying of the lower mounting area as well to get it to fit on a B8.5.

Is that a US license plate holder? My quattro grill came with the euro license plate but I'd like to have it just in case a cop forces me to run a plate (in MA).

It's not a US plate holder, we have the same law in CT, I'm banking on not getting stopped for it, but you could always zip tie the plate on somewhere or use the tow holder. My grille came with the Euro plate holder too.
