I ordered their V2 catch can for my 2012 b8 2.0t in June knowing it was back ordered ( heard it was the best). I received it in October no big deal. It was missing two -10 fittings and a clamp. Kinda bummed about that. I emailed them and they shipped the remaining parts out. I got the new parts and I’m ready to install it. Hey wait the bracket doesn’t fit the can! WTF. I took pictures with digital caliper measurements. They responded “they were milled wrong”. Gonna be 2-3 weeks to get new ones. Got the new one........ GUESS WHAT bracket still doesn’t fit. Either it’s still to thick or the bolts are too short.
Either way your product has been back ordered for 5 months. Can’t you at least take the time to make sure all the parts are in the box. Then make sure they fit before sending them out. What kind of quality control is going on over there. Completely ridiculous.

For years I lusted over one of thier shift knobs. Got my allroad and a sale popped up so I figured I'd treat myself. Knob looks great but it's so sloppy and feels like a cheap eBay knob in what is a well screwed together car. Reached out to them twice and even made a video. They said it's normal.

A $200 shift knob should not be this sloppy. Ive installed it twice to make sure it wasn't something I did. Don't think I'll buy from them again if they consider this normal.

A friend of mine with an B8 S5 6MT installed the ECS short throw shifter with a BFI knob .... his didn't fit any different. Twisted side to side like yours.

But ... and of course I can't think off the top of my head what it was I ended up doing for him ... but we tightened it right up. No more slop or side to side twisting like yours is showing.

I'm not sure if the way the knob attaches is different between the auto and the manual, but it took me like fifteen minutes to fix his play.

They are unbievable. I called them after i tried assembling the bracket to the can. The expalnation they gave me was crazy. They said that the O-ring is hard to compress. So get longer bolts to get it started then replace them with the supplied bolts. haha So there solution is for me to buy new install bolts and then replace them one by one with the supplied ones. rediculous!!!! So i figured i would just try to assemble the can with the bracket without the O-ring. No excuse there right, nothing to compress. Bolts wont even catch a thread. The bracket they sent looks completely different also.

So they responded to me saying that the bolts are too short and the ones they are using are 2mm longer. I had given them pictures of the bolts in a digital caliper over a month ago and the other day. They had these measurements a month ago and never even compared them to another bolt. There Engineering and Quality Control department over there sounds like it’s a Pre School class.
Here is there response to me.

    Hi Mark,

If you feel the need to, that's fine. We have the problem solved now. As this was a revised unit, sometimes there are hiccups. We apologize about the anguish this catch can has caused in your life. Have a happy Thanksgiving.

    Respectfully,

I told them I was going to give them a bad review and mention this on forums. That’s the response I got. Pretty ridiculous that’s there attitude. Very caddy and unprofessional. I get “hiccups” but 5 of them. Spanning a month and counting to solve this (still don’t have the bolts).

Lol the set screws weren't tight enough. Nothing wrong with the knob itself, I hate to be that guy but that's 100% user error. To be fair, the set screw installation is not the best, but it certainly works once you have it dialed in.

I have one of these that was installed in my old B7 that I'll get around to installing in the B8.5 someday. Absolutely love the thing.

You have an auto or manual? They're completely different. The slide mechanism that replaces the button is what causes the slop. The channels are to wide. The set screws are tight.

That's user error, tighten down the screws and stop complaining. I don't see what the issue is since you have to touch the knob twice while driving since it's not a manual.

I have a 6mt with an identical knob which fits great and has performed amazing for 2 years on 2 different cars, after being removed and reinstalled multiple times. Stop bashing companies with quality products because you don't know how to use an allen key.

    This.

You have to get the set screws exactly right, and these issues go away. It's a bit of trial and error since adjusting one screw can affect the others.
My biggest issue with this knob is that I keep forgetting to tell service techs about it when I bring it in for service, and they man-handle the shit out of it trying to figure out how to get out of park. They always end up breaking the set screws loose.

Have you tried putting some threadlocker on the set screws?

The butthurt 6mt guys think a shift knob is a hard install. I've been over it twice. Everything is as it should be with threadlocker on the screws. BFI has seen the video and says it's normal. Should I try it again cause it takes you guys 3 times to get something right?

Yeah, it's perpetually on my short list of things to do, that I'm always to lazy to get around to.
