Is the B8/8.5 RS5 the quickest production car to date from Audi? Track not strip.

Ok I’m not counting the R8 V10 because it’s a dedicated sports car but it seems the RS5 (V8) rocks the Nurburgring times over all or most other Audi’s!? It is even has a better lap time than the Generation 1 R8! 7’59” is awesome!!! I ain’t going to lie but this feels good. Even if there is another faster Audi that I missed besides the R8(V10) it is still the tops here. Like my car even more now.

    What’s a tt rs4?
The corvettes are more a sports car with good power to weight ratio and less luxury compared to most Audis.

Fixed typo, lots of Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Porsche on the top 100 production cars only a few Audis, kinda sad in my opinion Audi needs to fill the gap for a badass 4 door sports car
Something like the new Cyan Concept be a killer if Audi built a competitor. Top 20 fastest

I was trying to stick with Audi’s because there are a lot of nice and faster tracks out there for way less than the cost of Audi’s. Sad if you think about it but if you like the brand then not sad lol. They are just different market. Anyway that FWD civic type R is impressive non the less.
Did some research on the civic and I think it was a race car driver on the Nurburgring. Looked into another track, Laguna Seca and the RS5 was better there by a few seconds.

I concur, sir. Hands down a shame especially considering price points and gas mileage. Hahaha Honda for the wicked (choking and laughing) just before a face palm, lol.

I get it they are about luxury, but so is BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus.
The whole purpose is be both luxury and sporty where a civic type R isnt smoking most audis on the nurburgring.
But I guess weight is a big thing and the civic is much lighter compared to most audis.

That's the key, weight. The Audi is a nice, big, comfortable GT cruiser. Enjoy it for what it is. Screw lap times and quarter-miles, it wasn't built for that. Shit, my S5 is 500# HEAVIER than my wife's Mercedes E350, a fullsize luxury sedan! Give it up and stop chasing the tenths of a second and dyno pulls, and sit back, relax and watch the highway unfold at extralegal speeds in front of you.

I guess the point is, it would be nice if it was faster. That's all.

The bmw m4 has a slightly longer wheelbase vs the rs5, but weighs almost 200lbs lighter.
But at the same time the m4 isnt awd.
How much weight does awd adds?

Damn. It seems the bmw might be misleading folks about the m4 hp and tq. Similar what bmw/supra did with its power output.

Damn audi. They should do the same. I'm surprised the m4 caught up like that

Quattro is great for getting off the line quickly but is just a lot of extra weight and drive train losses you're carrying after that.
