The waterpump/thermostat on my 2016 A3 2.0T had to be replaced at just 60,000 miles. Audi did not offer any ‘good will’ help with this; even though I am still under the time limit for the warranty. I suspect they are punishing me for being a DIY maintenance person. I have all my records and was still denied.
I have raised this again with AOA as I find the failure of a durable part this early in the life of the vehicle unacceptable. In addition, there is no schedule for anything related to the cooling system in the early life of the vehicle so what one has to do with the other escapes me.
Anyway, the part they installed for the thermostat is 06L-121-111-M and for the water pump it’s 06L-121-012-H. Does anyone know if these are upgraded parts from what came originally? If not I expect I’ll be viewing these as maintenance items down the road. It’s frustrating that what should be a durable item is no longer considered so.
I will wait to hear from AOA as to why I’m denied any consideration in the meantime.
