RS5 B9 aftermarket performance brake pads

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello,

I suppose I'm not the only one that is not happy with the brake pads in the RS5.
I was wondering if somebody found an option for a performance brake pad that would work well with the OEM iron discs.

In the past I owned an Audi RS6 C7 and found that the best pad for the iron brakes is Endless MX72 but got in contact with Endless and they do not offer yet this pad for the RS5 B9.

The only options I found until now are:
    - O-Brake from Germany but there is no reviews on them and they suggest to replace also the disc with a bigger diameter. they make HTCIC brake discs and pads.
    - EBC yellor or red but read poor reviews about them
    - Centric Posi Quiet PRO for the front and Posi Quiet (without PRO) for the back
    - ATE normal brake pads for the front and ceramic pads for the back
    - I-Sweep with allot of ranges but also not much reviews about them

If somebody found an option or have tested one of the options above please give us some feedback.

    thank you in advance
    Remus

I just started my search for pads cause they squeak like crazy when coming to a stop and the dust is ridiculous. I recently got some 3 piece wheels and for my sanity I think i need a pad that dusts way less. So I had a C7 S7 and changed the pads to EBC Red stuff, and loved them. They didn't squeak and were low on the dust. I didn't know they were available for our cars. I may give them a shot.

When You are from EU, I would buy OZ Zimmermann (Germany), they offer pads and rotors too.

Hi, I'm not familiar with this pad. Could you tell us please what makes it worth it? What makes it so good?

    Thanks

    Hello,

From my point of view this is an ideal pad for fast street driving but not only.
I had an Audi RS6 C7 which is known as a poor brake setup due to undersized discs, allot of brake dust and noise.
When I changed to Endless MX72 I got the following situation:
    - disc wear is practically not existing anymore (the pads deposit a bluish coating on the disc and generate a mirror finish on the disc)
    - there is almost no dust at all due to the ceramic composition of the pad
    - the discs do not wrap anymore with this pad
    - the pad is not fading in sprinted drives due to 700 degree celsius temperature range
    - there is no noise if the pad is bedded in as per instructions of Endless

the only downside of the pad is on the very cold weather the first bite of the brake is not ideal.

what else could you want from a pad for street driving.
and by the way Endless is one of the most reputable brake pad supplier in the WRC.

Im running the z23 ceramic pads on the rear. Ther are gg temperature rated and holding up much better than the oem ferodo pads to 130mph to 20mph braking. Im going with the reybestos gg rated front ceramics in a month. The rears are giving no dust, very mild wear, no noise, and yeah ceramic pads apperar to almost polish the rotors as they go. Iirc the pads are like 50 bucks too.

Cold weather (better cold brakes) the first brake is not "ideal" - so like every racing pads, very dangerous in real life situations, most braking is done with cold brakes

and no R90 homologation, so no homologation for use in the streets of EU.

    So not for me.

Still trying to find a solution over OEM noisy and most annoying DUSTY brake pads,... EBC RedStuff good with comparable or better braking? Anyone else offer experience with other available pads? Not much is offered yet for our B9/B9.5's yet...

I have used EBC Yellow pads on different cars and I vouch for them, wouldn`t use anything else (also tried Ferodo DS2500, Brembo High Performance stuff); can`t beat price / performance ratio on them.

I've tried many ceramic pads (hawk, ebc red and yellow, akibono)
    Great for low dust
But none compare to the braking ability of the oem pads
So I'll take the dust, especially on a car like the RS5 where you will be driving at high speeds
